After seeing 'Ponyo' twice, I was struck by several ideas, and decided to put them down.
This one was actually pretty fun to do. Since there were some similarities to 'The Little Mermaid,' I wanted to use the reprise to the song 'Part of your World,' from Disney's film.
While I do favor the original Menken/Ashman/Benson collaboration, the tone I wanted was found in the version from the Broadway Musical. It has the simpler piano that made me think more of Jo Hisaishi's scores, and how simple and sweet the love story between Ponyo and Sosuke was.
