This was a special request made by a local friend. Despite having a full 2 seasons of Initial D, we kept this to just one. It fell into place rather quickly, with the concept being using external shots of the races punctuated by internal shots of the drivers during the guitar riffs. The second verse shoots so many lines out that we decided on a "flipbook" transition through them, since that gave a little more time to see what each clip was about.
The decision to use Iketani/Mako as opposed to Takumi/Natsuki was more "Tak's" fault. Most of the expression on Takumi was too sleepy - Iketani was more expressive about his feelings.
