Comments:
This is not a parody of any particular video. I was listening to my MP3 player while ironing. E.S. Posthumus came on. Ironing does not need an Epic Soundtrack. But it had a certain something. I was doing something similarly dull (washing dishes, IIRC) when struck by the Utena duel songs' quality of making everything seem Very, Very Heroic for No Apparent Reason.
The other aspect that fed into it was that I got tired of people saying that life is stupid or not worth living because it's not as exciting as anime, or movies, or whatever. That nothing matters you aren't off on some epic quest to save the universe. I find this silly. And so I made an epic video about nothing to thumb my nose at the "life is always exciting in anime" mindset. I scanned through clips for a year and skipped all the chases and battles and explosions and angst, looking for things like walking the dog and making lunch.
And this video resulted, after asking around for music ideas (thanks to all who suggested something), a year of scanning for usable scenes (517 were clipped, of which 154 got used), and about four months of putting it together. In between was about six more months of my computer being out of commission and/or not configured properly to finish the video. But now it's done. Yay.
Enjoy.
It's also on you-know-where and on my own page; they are both linked from my org profile. Thanks.
