"A White-Hot Juggernaut At 200 Miles Per Hour!"
My second trailer AMV is the trailer to Quentin Tarantino's half of the Grindhouse double feature, which attempts to recreate the sensationalist exploitation movies that were popular in drive-in theaters. With that in mind, I ladled on the cheese !
The movie Death Proof is in two parts, in each of which Kurt Russell stalks a different group of girls in his "death proof" muscle car. The trailer is also in two parts, so I used footage from the Utena TV series for the first part and Utena the movie for the second part.
Mixing the 16:9 movie footage with the 4:3 TV footage was tricky. I decided to go with 16:9 because it's a movie trailer. I just made the 4:3 clips taller than my project window so the top and bottom were cropped off, and adjusted the vertical position if I wanted to focus on something in the top or bottom of the frame.
I used After Effects for the film grain, the color tweaking and the shaking "Death Proof" logo, everything else was in Premiere and Photoshop.
