  Time to complete: Including the time it took to rip the DVD and edit the song, approximately 50 hours of total prep and editing that took place over the course of nearly six months or so. I had started the amv some time ago, scrapped it, and for some inexplicable reason decided to start over and complete it.

  ===== Title =====
  
  "Soar" is a direct reference to the song lyrics (literally, "maiagare" = to soar) and also to the theme of the piece.
  
  ===== Concept =====
  
  Compared to my other amvs, this is a rather simple premise with a rather simple execution. It's an amv that focuses directly on Vincent, just like the game, and doesn't use any footage from Advent Children on purpose because of this. It's something of a character profile, but only for this point in his life as it's also themed to overcoming the past and moving on. For those who haven't played the game... that's basically the point of the entire game (and saving the world, but that always happens).
  
  To go along with this idea, I took a slower approach, meaning I wasn't nearly as heavy handed with the cuts, and you'll find this video is significantly different in terms of timing than my previous work. Most of it is vocals first, then baseline, and it's overall a lot slower than my other videos. That having been said, I picked the song because it does have high energy moments, just not all the time ;)

  As per usual, the song was longer than I wanted to edit to, so I cut it down to three minutes by jumping to the second verse. The adopted lyrics for the video are as follows:
