  • Comments: This one has been sitting on my HD for over a year. I had finished the editing but was having troubles with the export. It's been quite a while since I've even looked at it & I just decided here in my flu induced boredom that it was finally time to get back to it.

It is the story of Mima ofcourse. Her deterioration of self you could say. It's like she's singing the song to her self. In a way the concept is a little like my very first AMV "Sugar There" but with a less hopeful ending. Like Perfect Blue, this AMV is a little hard for me to watch. It gets me all knotted up in my gut, not a nice feeling...but I'm glad I was able to make this, because the concept was really bugging me, for months I couldn't get it out of my head. & after the editing was done I was able to be free of it I suppose.

WARNING! NOT FOR CHILDREN! There is nothing overly vulgar or extremely explicit but definitely not for the easily offended.

    Spoiler warning as well.

Thank you for taking the time to read & watch again. As always I still have my agreement going where you leave a comment for me & I will leave one for you. Any comments or criticisms are welcomed & appreciated.

EDIT: I got a comment on this that made me a little sad.

    # 2008-04-10 01:53:48This video is okay, but it would have made a LOT more sense if you had followed the song more and put it between two distinct males. Instead, I just saw a lot of the "rape" scene and not much substance. Sorry, I wasn't a fan of it.

Now I know that that's just someone's opinion, but I worked really hard to try & NOT make it one of those videos that just has "rape" in it just for the sake of putting it in there. If you look at it from the perspective of Mima as was the intention, it's like she's got a sort of split personality. Like she's created this other persona to take over for her so she could do her job (which was the whole red light thing) & her other self was letting her know she didn't have to do that or to be that anymore, & she was disgusted with herself & ultimately pushed so far that she could no longer handle the tragedy that was her life & the very end was like her "other" self finally taking over & freeing her from her despair. I hope this explanation will help anyone else to get past the "traditional" intent of the song & get more out of the video.
