  • Comments: This is my first attempt at a pure romance vid, and also the first vid where I was determined to eliminate all lip-flap from the get-go, and boy was it hard. (I felt it was important to keep the lip flaps in the scene where the couple is being reprimanded by her manager. It's not meant to be lip-synch, though upon further review I can see where people might mistake it for that.)
I have received comments that the vid seems slow, and it is, compared to the typical amv. If and when I make a second version of this vid, I'll try and ramp up the action some, but when I made the vid I was aiming for more of a dreamy, old-fashioned tone, like that of an old romance film.
For this vid, the video serves to illustrate the story of the song, but I also tried to order the scenes so as to show the relationship gradually developing, from the timid first embraces, to the first kiss, and finally with the classic sunset fade-out of two people completely in love.
Btw, stick around after the fade-out- the vid isn't over. I added an epilogue for the credits which brings the imagery full circle from the initial fade-out of the prologue.

Technical notes: The more vids I make, the more respect I have for the other creators here. There were so many scenes where I wanted to keep the scene going for the sake of continuity, but had to get creative because lip-flapping forced me to cut the scene off early. The main way I got around this was to vary the speed of the clip, and I think it turned out pretty well overall.
One example: For the kiss in the middle of the vid, from the time she starts toward him until the fade out of the classroom, the sequence is comprised of four clips, each running at a different speed, from 125% to 8.33%.
This is the first vid which incorporates all the elements which I hope CRP becomes known for- prologue, epilogue, show audio and floating titles and credits. It's not for everyone, but I hope that those of you who do like these elements will continue to try out my vids. Forum thread.

Audio notes: Every Time I Think of You is an old song that has been digitally remastered to remove background noise, however there is still some at the start of the song. For some reason, the volume of it almost doubled when I encoded the mp4. However, it fades away before long, and never returns.

Video notes: The challenge for this vid was to eliminate the extraordinary amount of interlacing in the source material. I searched the recommended AMV threads, and the only Ai Yori Aoshi vid I found mentioned was Typical Love Story, which is one of my favorites as well. When I studied it, it seemed that not even snhKnives had been able to eliminate all of the interlacing, so I was proud that I had been able to do something that not even as great a creator as he had been able to do. Btw, it took over three hours of trying and searching, and the key was an aside comment I found on an article about TIsophote. It didn't give the answer, but it clued me in as to what was going on so that I could figure out the solution from the filters that I was familiar with.

If the video won't play, get this codec pack.
