Hiya Gang! Pinoy here. Just to clarify a few things, Pinoy and Haggis are our pen names. We're just a bunch of clueless guys trying to survive college at the University of Arizona. Anyways. . .
I'm proud to announce our very frist Anime Music Video from we at Rice and Haggis. I guess I should describe all the typical specs:
It took about 25 Man hours over 4 days to finish this one, using Pinnacle Studio Software.
Personally, I'm quite proud of this one, especially since this is our first try at making AMV's.
The inspiration came from that fact that about 90% of all the Oh My Goddess AMV's are love dramas with slow, tear-jerker music. We thought we might give the "Hugs and kisses" Oh My Goddess dramas a run for their money by creating an action AMV.
Needless to say, making an action music video from a boy-meets-girl love story was quite a challenge, but surprisingly, we found some pretty good material in the Oh My Goddess Movie.
In a sense, the AMV turned out to be more or less, an action preview of the movie itself. Me and my buddy had a blast making this one, although, getting the editing software to spit out a hi def version of the AMV was pretty frustrating. We definitely didn't want to give you guys a cruddy, pixel blotch version of our proud piece of work.
Now abou the Music. Virus, by Luca Turilli seemed like a pretty good fit for this one, since most of the anime talked about a virus that was invading the Goddess security system. Also the beat fit real nice with alot of the scenes.
Haggis and I first heard this song at the Phoenix Cactus Comicon during the AMV contest. It was played in a Witch Hunter Robin AMV entitled "Howl". Only half the song was used in the AMV so it only ran for about 2 minutes. Haggis and I decided that we HAD to use that song in our Debut video. . . and not just that. . . but the WHOLE song. As a result our video runs about twice as long; which unfortunately meant twice the work.
There was alot of experimenting with the editing, as Haggis and I were trying to get a feel for the software. We did a little of this and that until we found some neat stuff that clicked. Anyways, I'll let the video speak for itself.
If anyone at U of A or the Tucson Animation Screening Society is reading this, I want you all to know, We did it, we made the video! Now you guys owe Haggis and I some Pizza. ^_^/
Enjoy!
