Well, I watched Kanon a while ago and absolutely loved it. So I wanted to do a vid to it, a general vid (since girl profiles had already been claimed). Anyways, I have to thank CrackTheSky for (indirectly) showing me this song, since I found it on his mySpace page.
When I was making this, I didn't really have a clear concept in my head. I was just going with the mood and lyrics of the music. This video definitely has spoilers (so beware I guess? o.o). Most of my beta testers said (and I agree) it would certainly help to have seen the series before. Regardless, I highly recommend watching the series.
Now I know that there are at least a few lip flap correction mistakes, and the resolution is a touch strange. I was planning to fix them as well as make a few adjustments (killing the lip flap I had left in there, switching out the small amount of raw footage I was forced to use with R2, and general changes to the vid itself) for org release, but due to a rogue uninstallation of a program, I experienced a fairly large data loss, including the project file. I didn't feel like rebuilding it, so I just ripped my vid off the Pro DVDs and compressed. Quality also might not be as good as it could be due to this
I probably spent about 20-30 hours on this. I did about 2 minutes of it over a period of a week or so. However, I had to rush the remaining 4 minutes in order to make the deadlines for a few contests.
This was my AWA Pro entry. Was nominated for Best Romance/Sentimental and Best Drama, which was better than I expected
I'd like to thank my beta testers (If I forgot you, feel free to poke me):

Song Lyrics (for those who care):
When in the springtime of the year
When the trees are crowned with leaves
When the ash and oak, and the birch and yew
Are dressed in ribbons fair.
When owls call the breathless moon
in the blue veil of the night
When shadows of the trees appear
amidst the lantern('s) light.
We've been rambling all the night
and sometime of this day
Now returning back again
we bring a garland gay.
Who will go down to those shady groves
and summon the shadows there
And tie a ribbon on those sheltering arms
in the springtime of the year.
The sounds of birds seem to fill the wood
and when the fiddler plays
All their voices can be heard
long past their woodland days.
We've been rambling all the night
and sometime of this day
Now returning back again
we bring a garland gay.
And so they linked their hands and danced
'round in circles and in rows
And so the journey of the night descends
when all the shades are gone.
A garland gay we bring you here
And at your door we stand
Here's a sprout, well budded out
The work of our Lord's hand.
We've been rambling all the night
and sometime of this day
Now returning back again
we bring a garland gay.
We've been rambling all the night
and sometime of this day
Now returning back again
we bring a garland gay.
