My second AMV and my first submission here
I use imovie since i have a mac.
"I did this because i feel that the "hey look,little girls with guns!how disturbing and sad!" side of the story has been done to death in other amvs .I chose to show happy moments in GG because it would make it different from other amvs and also because those moments are very important to the story,there's truly a lot of them (i had quite few clips to choose from) why are there so many happy moments in this tragic story?Because the tragedy is the fact that these girls are happy (even if they're far from being completely happy),this is best shown at the end of episode 3 when Rico says "i like my life here very much" which is to me one the saddest lines of the anime.There's one girl absent though:Elsa,she just wasn't happy.
With this in mind,i want to bring up the song selection,the sun is really present in this anime,normaly if you want to bring a sad and dark athmosphere you generaly tend to get rid of the sun but here not only is it shown,the sun is really a central part of the anime.So that one of the reason i chose this song.
The other is that in general i feel that the lyrics fit the state of mind of the girls nicely,"here comes the sun" is kind of a message of hope,saying better things will come now,the hard part is done,i can see the girls thinking that since they're given a second chance at life after all the atrocities they've been through."
