Just a fun video. Thia is the first video I have made after starting my editing course. My first anime music video using avid and this is the very first time I have attempted to use Adobe After Effects. Decided to learn some basics solely for this music video. Came up with the idea for the video because I wanted to create a fast, upbeat, fun music video with as many anime's as I could. I was trying to choose between "Dance Dance" by Fall Out Boy, "Canned Heat" by Jamiroquai, "Time to Dance" by Panic at the Disco, "I Write Sins not Tragedies" by Panic at the Disco, or "Web of Night" by T. M. Revolution. Web of night was the only one dance related but I love Takanori's music to death and I already knew some scenes to put in it. I ended up asking some other students for their opinion and most chose "Dance Dance" so that was the one I went for. I wanted one that I would always feel good when I heard it on the radio and that was definately one of them. So I went through all my animes (even bought some new ones) looking for dance footage and when I finished making the video I couldn't believe I had reached 52 different animes!
This video took forever! I spent over a week just digitizing the footage. Then a week editing. And then at least 8 hours with After Effects (not including the time it took to learn it - thank you Richard ^-^) But I am very happy with the result. The only thing I had planned at the start was the beginning with the drums and guitars and then the later scene with Utena and Anthy falling onto the matress. Everything else was put together as I went, which isn't normal for me. This was also the first video where I wasn't trying to tell a story or convey a certain character's feelings. I'm just proud I ttried something new lol
Now I just have to stop looking out for dance scenes in anime now that I'm done lol Let me know what you think of the video. I love feedback.
