  • Comments: This is my first AMV, and really my first attempt at video editing. In fact, looking for a place to post this is what introduced me to animemusicvideos.org, so please be gentle. This video features footage from Lunar Legend Tsukihime. The theme centers around the protagonist, Shiki Tohno, and his impossible relationship with the princess and vampire, Arcueid Brunestud.

    Just as Arcueid's existence is one of contradictions, so their relationship is filled with diametric qualities that seem unresolvable, and Shiki's life is suddenly immersed in violence and unanswered questions. Nevertheless, the two share a connection and romance in spite of the fact that Arcueid can never belong to Shiki's world. I have attempted to capture some of this in my AMV, including some of the hope, despair and violence that gives Tsukihime it's dark flavor and heavy contrasts.

    Choosing Thornley's hit single "Beautiful" for the music in this project wasn't accidental. I think the theme and tone of the song fits perfectly with the intent of the video. It also has a feel that I believe is conducive to the action and pace I had in mind.
