• Comments: I've long felt that Kurogane Communication is a show that's too often overlooked by anime fans, and it should come as no surprise that it's overlooked by the AMV community as well. Consider this my attempt to do a little something about that.
  
  "Wind Nocturne" is really a perfect choice of music for Haruka's story with its themes of loss and longing, so the concept for the video came together fairly easily. The story within the video is told through three different continuations, all devoted primarily to an individual theme: loss, solitude, and hope. The themes are conveyed through metaphorical devices for the most part, all of which relate to one another in some way. The one element that really ties everything together is Haruka's parents, or rather, her memories thereof. That's what drives the look into the nature of Haruka as a character.
  
  But enough of the deep analysis...the video is almost mournful in tone at times, but has a bittersweet element to it served up by the recurring theme of "hope". It's not really meant to be a tear-jerker, but it's heavy nonetheless, and ends on what could be considered a dark note. Oddly enough, I didn't realize how dark it was in spots until I had finished editing.
  
  On the technical side, there isn't anything remarkable to make note of. Most of the special effects appear seamless...the footage was very cooperative in that respect. There's a touch of lip sync, there for dramatic effect more than anything else. I shortened the song since it had a ridiculously long outro that wasn't of much use.
  
  Edited with Premiere 6.0, post-production in VirtualDub, and MPEG encode done with TMPGEnc. Editing time was roughly 40 hours spread over about 2 months.
