• Comments: After a long dry spell, I finish a second AMV.
  
  This video is inspired by, and was initially to have been included in the
  Freddie Mercury Tribute MEP as the second of my 2 tracks. Due to unfortunate delays, the MEP wouldn't meet the initial deadline to coincide with what would have been Freddie's 60th birthday. But I decided that I would try to release something for Freddie's birthday on my own. Obviously, if you look at the premiere date for this video, I missed that date also. On deciding to use this combo or the other pairing of Queen's Body Language and Golden Boy, I chose the shorter 2 minute, 15 second Stone Cold Crazy, combined with FLCL (Fooly Cooly) since it should be quicker to complete using the full length of the song, compared to 4 minutes and 33 seconds for Body Language. I also decided that the more repetitive nature of Body Language would make it harder to complete a full length version.
  
  The rough draft of this video was actually completed on September 5, 2006, in time for Freddie's birthday. But it still needed tweaking of the timing sync, lipsync (!), getting rid of unnecessary lip-flap, and adding proper credits. I spent the next few days adjusting the timing, changing a few scenes, and attempting to add the credits in the style I initially envisioned.
  
  The credits. Oddly enough, this part of the video caused me the most grief and took the most time. My first intention was to duplicate the "vibrating" text seen in the end credits of FLCL before the animation and stop-motion sequences. Although in this video, it would serve as opening credits. Trying to remake the effect in Paint Shop Pro X nearly drove me mad. Then I tried to see if I could get close using Magix MEP10's title editor and adding effects. This also took a long time and nearly had me pulling hair out. Even after hours of work, the end results were far from what I wanted. So I had to go with Plan B, which is the extended end credit sequence you see now. The original plan for the end sequence was just the dedication to Freddie Mercury and the date. As a final touch, I added the beginning of Queen's I'm Going Slightly Mad as the background music for the credits.
  
  The credit fiasco also influenced the final title name selection. I was deciding on calling this Stone Cold Crazy or something that would play on those words or have some relation to FLCL. The final title selection breaks down to this:
  
  Rock = Stone
  Fully = Cold (or more specifically stone-cold, which means completely or utterly) and is a play on Fooly (from FLCL (Fooly Cooly))
  MAD = Crazy and is a play on the term MAD which is another name for AMV
  
  I hope my blood, sweat, tears, and sanity were worth it.
