This idea has been in the back of my mind for two years. This was actually going to my second Mac AMV after "FLCLF: Fooly Cooly Fighters". But I was unable to deinterlace the anime clips correctly. Also I used both chapters of Samurai X, "Trust and Betrayal" and "Reflection" and wasted the big kill at the first chorus. The AMV was just a bland line of nothing and the AMV never lived past one convention screening.

After I did "The Place Promised for Better Days", I knew I had to keep this momentum going. So I decided to finally get this AMV done, but after a few weeks of slow process, I thought this AMV would never come to life. But then one day an idea struck me, make Kenshin lose while we reflect on him winning giving him a reason to break his killing habit. So for the next few days I was pounding on Final Cut Pro putting the right clips in the right place and making the bridge the right place for the big kill and scramble the clips to show chaos. I actually used the same effects in 2:28 I used in my old AMV.

For this AMV I decided to make the clips more synced up to the lyrics so people who has seen the anime can relate to it. At first the cuts were synced to the beat but then in the second chorus it became more lyrical. At the third chorus I wanted to finally cap off the AMV by showing that Kenshin really did stop, and then he reflects on what happened to him in 2 seconds. Then there is the long scene that is usually seen in black figures in front of yellow fire. I thought the orginal color did not seem to flow with the rest of the AMV so was able to make white figures in front of a blue fire, it was a good improvement. The final clip is what the AMV is about: peace and clarity. I used the old title as the main title but I wanted to add some originality. So just like "Faithless" I picked a lyric that exemplifies the AMV as a whole. So I picked clarity because that is what Kenshin really neeeded.

So sit back and enjoy "Clarity"
