  • Comments: I received the El Hazard OAV series on DVD for Christmas 2007 so over the rest of the holiday I decided to re-master Jinnai and the Bugrom. In the course of re-mastering the video I changed a few scenes, but I think I left all the iconic parts of the video in place. The most significant edit is the beginning, I was never very happy with the way the video opened prior to Jinnai beginning to sing. I've learned a lot about lip sync techniques in AMVs, so I tightened that up as well.

    The source for the original version was the old Pioneer Laserdisc release, I had to connect my LD player to my miniDV camcorder, record the LD to tape, then digitize the tape onto my Mac. Going back and looking at the original LDs today, it looks like their source wasn't digital to begin with, so the DVD footage I used now is a lot better.

    If you're a fan of my original, I hope you like the remake and I'd really like your feedback. I didn't want to change the video so much that it became something different.
