  • Comments: Well, here's a list of firsts for me.

*This is my first time using Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch for anything (although that should change in the near future).

*This was my first time making the video using Windows Movie Maker.

*It's the first time I used a song from Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon. To be precise: "C'est La Vie" by Ayaka Komatsu (Minako Aino/Sailor Venus).

    Now for the breakdown...

Idea: I don't know where I got the idea from, but when I heard "C'est La Vie," I knew that I wanted to use it with Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch. I guess it was because I associated the song with dancing idols. What better way to use the song than with an anime that has magical girls transforming into pop idols and using "The Power of Song" to triumph? In short: MMPPP.

Story: There isn't really a story behind it. However, I did want to break it up into 3 separate sections: Luchia, then Hanon and Rina, then the rest of the Mermaid Princesses, as well as Hippo and Kaitou, and miscellaneous. If you want the lyrics, you can always go to AnimeLyrics.com, but I followed the lyrics from Sailor Dream: A PGSM Guide. Although it's not 100% accurate, it's my version of how the lyrics are interpreted.

Software: As previously mentioned, I used Windows Movie Maker. That's right, people: I used the evil software, the one notorious for crashing and freezing on its user. It froze on me about...*counts on fingers* 20 times. However, I wanted to take a break from using Final Cut Pro and iMovie, and besides, it was also an experiment, just to test my editing skills.

Title: I couldn't really come up with a good title, so I asked an online friend of mine, and she came up with Mermaid Mermaid Revolution.

Effects: None. I only used one transition, and that was a fade-to-black at the very end.

Length: It took me about 5 minutes to have an idea, about a day to collect the footage, and 2 days to edit them (damn WMM for crashing on me).

All in all, I'm closing the year with two shoujo amvs. You can check out my Christmas amv, A Present from Full Moon.
