  • Comments: Chicago's "25 or 6 to 4" is quite an interesting song to try and analyize the lyrics. Speculation has ranged from drug related references (a mathematical ratio for measuring or the amount of time it lasts in a person's system), to travel routes ("to get into chicago take Rt. 25 to get there or take rt 6 then onto rt 4"), to trying to tell time (from an upside-down clock or when half-asleep).

No matter which meaning prefered, in my mind Generator Gawl seemed a wonderful match to put with this song. Time seems to be a major factor in both anime and song, as well as a sense of being...displaced. Though Gawl's altered states are more toward the physical rather than the mental. (Ha ha)

Gawl's "25 or 6 to 4" is not only their race against time, but also the instability of their future. It's their physical state as well--both "generated" and "future past".

Anime used: Generator Gawl. (some spoilers)

In creating this video I used Vic Bond's guide as a reference, but I had to deviate from the path (so to say) because my Premiere was a bit different than the one he mentions in his guide. I have Adobe Premiere Elements. I'm not happy with the video quality. Even using Bond's guide, I can't seem to rip perfect clips from my DVDs. Hopefully in time I'll figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Despite the less than perfect video quality, I hope you enjoy my first action-type AMV! I really love this song. It's beat always gets me going, so I tended to sync the images with the instruments. In after-thought, I'm wondering if I did this too much in the video. I'm not really sure if "action" is the right label for the video. Please let me know what you think.
