• Comments: I could go on & on with the notes, but I won't. The title is "The Ballad of Leif & Jessica", but it composed of 2 halves, "we're in Heaven", & "we're in Hell." Please, don't leave an opinion unless you have a VERY open mind.
  
  The 2 videos are put together because they form a story. In case you didn't know, I wanted to form a backstory for Jessica & Lief. Their ages during the video are:
  chibi Rei (short haired girl child) -> Kei (girl with hat) -> Jessica
  chibi Shinji (other child) -> Kazuya (guy with glasses) -> Lief
  and, just for fun:
  Asuka -> Seras
  
  You may notice the video becomes more complex as it progresses. The 1st half only has the 2 anime. The 2nd half started with only 2 anime, but then 2 more anime just needed to be there. Also, I started experimenting more & more with cuts & fx. One part near the end reminds strongly of delerium, even tho that wasnt my intention per se. I really pushed myself, cutting the scenes in tiny places for timing, adjusting lip sync, even re-editing a large part near the middle. I changed what I had there (adjusted contrast & colors) for something more like what happens near the end, with the super rapid scene changes. I like how it looks like Integra's giant hand is reaching for the gun on Jessica's back. I am really making an effort to make this good, even if it is imperfect.
  
  Notes for 1st video half:
  This video turned out shitty. On the off chance that someone will actually like it, I decided to upload it. To see my -good- video, check out "Come Play My Game (DVD)". That turned out good. I spent 4 hours editing this, as opposed to 2 weeks.
  
  If you want technical notes, there aren't many. I used still frames & repitition for the lip sync, and I cut up the footage & inserted solid blue stills for some of the flash effects. The blue stills technique was something I have not seeen before; I wanted to experiment.
  
  This video is meant as a tribute to the 2 teenage vampires in episode 2 of Hellsing: Leif & Jessica. Since there is hardly enough footage in the one episode for an entire video, I also used Hand Maid May. The parts with Hand Maid May are supposed to be flashbacks Jessica is having on their motorcycle ride straight to Hell. Kazuya & Kei are supposed to be Leif & Jessica before they became vampires. Since they are "freak chip" vampires (if I remember correctly), maybe the computer screen shocking "younger Jessica" has a special significance to their present day condition....
  
  Notes for 2nd video half:
  This was heavily inspired by the Street Fighter video also to this song. I liked how the actions in the video were inconsistent with the lyrics. This is supposed to feel a bit disturbing, because the images don't correspond with what is being sung. I also don't feel like the feeling of the song is one of innocence at all. This dissonance is most apparent at the part when the song says "unity" and has chibi Rei being strangled. While the visuals do show unity in a sense, that of Doctor Akagi's hands & chibi Rei's neck, they also disturb a bit. BTW, in England, they call girls "birds". Seras is from England. Get it? BTW, the eason I added subs for the lyrics is because when I looked them up, I noticed they were so incredibly stupid at that point that I HAD to include them, so others could be shocked at how dumb they were.
  
  The part I spent the most time on is definately the part where Alucard sings with gothic!Cham. I spent 2 days composing it, really refining it & making it look compositionally balanced. Then I realized Hey! people aren't even going to get to see this clearly, why does it matter if the one girls skirt doesn't perfectly balance the other girl's in terms of color & weight? That part is also my first time animating something.
