Time to Finish:
Somewhere along the lines of editing for 2 months going at about 2 hours per day. My hard drive failed and it took a while for me to start editing, but I was able to recover in about one week.
This is my first actual ANIME music video in nearly 3 years, so I just wanted to have fun and start out with a bang. It's not really made to be a super intense and emotional AMV, although to some it may seem like it. I just wanted to have fun making it, since it's been a couple months since I was editing for the Final Fantasy 6 Character Project.
My favorite part of the entire video has to be...well, the entire video! But I do especially like the clips with the Lance of Longinus. It's probably my favorite concept in the entire storyline.
The part I had the hardest time with was the first 25 seconds or so. It was just setting up the track mattes with the motion applied. And the stars effect made in particleIllusion. That first 25 seconds too about a month to create.
Near the end of the video I put in some symbolism and such. Misato kisses Shinji, because she wanted to be his lover (the movies) as well as his mother (the series). And at the very end, Shinji sees Misato's cross in front of his real mother (Rei/Yui). The video doesn't entirely focus on Shinji, so I didn't checkmark the Character Profile category.
The title is a nice topic to talk about. I was going through Dictionary.com trying to come across something that struck to my fancy to use as my title. I stumbled upon Elysium, which is a place of supreme happiness according to Greek mythology. I thought it fit and seemed like a fairly interesting title, so I slapped it onto an image and put it in the beginning of the AMV.
I hope that everyone likes the AMV I created. Leave an opinion for it if you like it and to give me some feedback on what I could improve on in my future videos. I had a lot of fun creating the music video, and I hope that everyone has fun watching it.
