I've always loved "My Neighbor Totoro" but I never had the capability to make a video of it, even if I did have a capture card all I have is my crappy fansubbed copy. But a friend of a friend gave us a VCD copy which had the subtitles in the letterboxed portion of the movie so I could finally make my video.
This video was made with my blue & white G3 and Adobe Premiere (as always). I converted the MPEG to quicktime then converted the entire video back to MPEG so the quality is pretty good, I could only have gotten better if I had a capture card which I don't think would come in handy enough right now for me to invest in.
I spent at least four weeks on this video because I didn't have time to work on it. I left it alone for at least two weeks in a rough form because I had a lot of school work to do, but I finally sat down, changed some clips around, changed the timing and I'm finally satisfied with it. What I like most about this video aside from Totoro are some of the music cues most of which were intentional some which were a surprise but worked out in the end. There's one particular moment that I think is especially cute where the music really matches the song. Finally, a video which hasn't been done by anyone else which I'm very pleased with.
