Half-Blood, Full Metal...
Since Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince will be released to theatres the same weekend as Otakon 2009, I decided to make a parody trailer for it with Fullmetal Alchemist to enter in to the AMV contest there. This first go at a trailer turned out okay, but while I was working on it, WB released a 2nd trailer that I felt had even more potential than this one. I am premiering this first trailer at ACen, and I will premiere the second one at Otakon.
Upon watching the trailers available for the Harry Potter movie at the time, labled "Trailer 1" and "Trailer 3a" by the studio, I found that neither one was completely to my liking. I decided to make a mashup "extended" trailer with what I considered to be the best parts from both the teaser and the trailer.
I added plenty of special effects with Adobe After Effects as well, and I tried to make the colour gamut more similar to that of the Harry Potter movies. In some ways, I actually think this is better than the real trailer for the movie! But I'll leave that for you to decide. :D
