This is probably my best video to date. Seriously, I love it to pieces and I really hope others will enjoy it as well.
Right, so this might seem like the obligatory Subaru/Seishirou vid that all TB/X fangirls must make at least once in their obsessive phases. That is partially true, but it's also a matter of the fact that this idea just wouldn't go away, no matter how much I tried to think of other things. I had this whole vid planned before I'd even finished ripping the footage.
On top of that the song ... Off Kilter wasn't the first Birds of Tokyo song I'd ever heard, but it was the song that made me fall in love with the band. And it fits so perfectly to the Subaru/Seishirou dynamic during X-1999.
Okay, details.
Theme-wise, it's mostly Subaru-centric and his musing on how unhealthy his relationship with Seishirou is. He wants to let go and yet doesn't want to at the same time and refuses to deny his own love. It's about Seishirou throwing him away and Subaru refusing to let go.
Despite the heavy themes, it's not full of angst - the music doesn't quite let it be, being rather energetic. I rather like the contrast and was glad that the tempo allowed a sort of action-grittiness to come through as well as the emotions. It packs a punch, I think, which is what I was going for.
I don't think I need to mention that this AMV contains shounen-ai implications, but I shall anyway for those who got this far without knowing the characters I'm talking about.
YAOI ahead.
Spoilers too.
All that said, please enjoy.
