  • Comments: THE ORIGIN:
Me and 3 friends decided to go to Katsucon 9, just for one day, Friday. And me being the anime junky I am went to the dealer's room. And my friends of course, followed suit. One friend, Talon, purchased the DDR 6th Mix Soundtrack. Of course my immediate response was to ask for a copy (which I got about 2 weeks later). While listening to the tracks I was thinking of various AMV concepts. After hearing this one track about the third time, I opted to go with Kare Kano as the base because for some reason it seemed to fit to me.

    THE CONCEPT:
I'm not sure if there really is any concept behind this video. I just thought it up because I really wanted to try making a dance video. There's no story or anything, it's just meant make you wanna get up and dance... or something along those lines...

    THE PRODUCTION:
Production for the video has been spread out over about two weeks. I've come to the conclusion that my copy of Premiere is a tad bit gimpy. Every-so-often, the audio "hiccups" casuing the entire video track to fall off synch. But an AMV maker must not be bothered by such trite annoyances. I managed to work around these glitches.

Production, of course, starts with the great ritual of capturing your video and audio. Followed by staring blankly at your screen thinking where to start. Kind of like writing these descriptions. I knew what direction was aiming to take, which was lip-sync for all the lyrics in the song. And using quick paced action scenes where there was no lyrics, with several ideas of what to put in certain parts.

After a multitude of trial and errors, I believed I was on the right track. Production continued dispite issues with Premiere. For some reason, everytime I tried to encode the video, the timing got seriously screwed up, at least until I stopped trying to encode in DivX and just did a raw AVI (since I was going to be burning it to DVD). I have yet to try and put it in DivX again... but I might opt for Mpeg instead this time... we'll see...

    AFTER THE FACT:
Wow... that came out rather nice in the end. It's all fun and bubbly. I likes it!
