Now, before you watch, there is one thing you MUST understand about this video: it serves NO purpose other than to entertain. It's pure, random, action, nothing more. Persons attempting to find a motive in this video will be prosecuted; persons attempting to find a moral in it will be banished; persons attempting to find a plot in it will be shot.
That said, here's a little background. I made this video as a contest entry for Battlesaga VII. The only rule for the contest was to use FFVII: AC. It took me ages to find a song to use, because I really had no inspiration. I had this song stashed away in the back of my mind, because I knew it had great potential for a wild action video. I was kinda trying to go for a sentimental sort of song for this, but then a thought occurred to me: This if Advent Children we're talking about. Is there any sentimentality to use? ... ... ... Kirikirimai it is. >.>
This is my most technologically advanced video. Right from the start, I got creative and used goddamn lens flares as track mattes to match the record scratch sound. It worked surprisingly well. Then for the chorus I tried to hit every major beat I heard with action syncs and quick edits. That too looked much nicer than I expected. In a move of utter randomness, I decided to overlay the cell phone with the Luma key over a slow segment of the song. Sure, I could justify it by saying it represented Cloud's companions trying to support him and never leaving his side. Ha, fuck no. It was just random. XD The end segement was edited much different from the rest of the video, but the tone of the song changed, so I tried to match it unsuccessfully. Oh well, I tried.
Also, this is an edit, of the remixed version of Kirikirimai. I did this to get rid of crappy parts of the song, and also to shorten it. Visit Epical Studios for my latest videos!
Entered in Manifest 2007, but didn't qualify. People liked it at the Friday showing though. XD
