This ain’t yo Momma’s music video.
Well, maybe it is.
So far, I’ve seen a lot of Gundam Wing Anime Music Videos, while although great, have a lot of the battling robots and violence and stuff like that. If that’s what you’re looking for - you have come to the wrong video.
This is my first ever AMV, and I'm proud of it, although its under constant scrutinization of how I can improve it. (If you any suggestions, they are welcome.) I don't have a lot of space, and have been having trouble making a DVD Ripper work, so I have used some downloaded material. I apologize if something came from an AMV. Nothing fancy here, (I learned about effects and things AFTER I finished.) If you would like to check out my vid, drop me a line one way or another. Send me an email, Contact me on AIM, MSN Messneger (pinky75910@hotmail.com) or Yahoo: digipinky759102000 (had a hard time coming up with something original.)
I am huge Beatles fan, so for my first vid, I wanted to do a Beatles song. I kept going through a lot of songs trying to match them up with an anime, and I finally got one.
Gundam Wing is my best friend’s favorite anime, not mine, but I stumbled across a song that I was able to come up with GW scenes that would fit. After I started making it, it seemed to make itself - it was easy and fast. This video *wanted* to be made. A lot of cool things happened by accident. Golden Slumbers especially, cause I found a lot of scenes of Heero sleeping or appearing to sleep, and if he wasn’t available, I found Relena sleeping!
This is mostly a drama I suppose, but I do have my little jokes here and there, and The End hits into the action segment. Golden Slumbers I started making following the lyrics pretty closely. Carry That Weight had fewer lyrics so it’s a little freer (if that’s a word) so I went with trying to showcase all the boys’ emotional peaks, carrying that weight. The third song, The End, is almost entirely instrumental and includes a kick-ass drum solo. I know many choose to put gunfire or something violent of some kind over drums, but I thought to myself - No. If it’s one thing the Beatles didn’t stand for it was violence, which is why I minimized it in this video. So I said, okay, what else can I put here? I came up with dedicating The End to Gundam stunts! (Keep doing those flips Trowa!) I saw someone else had made a different amv to the Golden Slumbers Medley to a different anime. During The End, they tried to do something special by changing scenes each time a different Beatle jammed out on their guitars during this sequence. I’m not sure I’m clever enough for that, so I have merely done what you see here. Let me know what you think!
If you want to know more about the Beatles, may I suggest you visit www.iamthebeatles.com, which includes reviews and behind the songs info on about every single song they ever wrote! I finish with an excerpt from this website.
Well, that’s enough intro, wouldn’t you say? If you’d like to see this vid, don’t hesitate to drop me a line. Feedback is always appreciated. Even if you don’t like, write to tell me and why so I can improve it. That said,
It’s wonderful to be here, It’s certainly a thrill. You’re such a lovely audience. I hope you enjoy the show. A splendid time is guaranteed for all. Hills, GW fans, Hope I've made you proud.
