Leonardo's relationship with the Shredder's adopted daughter, Karai, is...complicated. Mutual respect turns to frustration turns to betrayal turns to resentment and finally rage. The first verse is heard as Leonardo remembers when he and Karai were friends, then in the bridge to the chorus he recalls how she came to serve the Shredder.
The first chorus is the result of their friendship: They are forced to arms against each other often, but neither is willing to give up on the relationship completely.
This comes to a head in the second verse...the Shredder is attacked by the turtles and Karai pleads with Leo one last time to let her father go. Leo finally commits...to his family and to defeating their sworn enemy. He goes after the Shredder. Just as he did what he must, Karai does what she must and protects her father.
The second chorus is the showdown.
Following the showdown is the fallout...the bitterness and rage they both feel following their mutual betrayals. This video focuses on Leo's side. The next will focus on Karai's.
