When did I get into Anime?
I have liked anime since as long as I can remember, but all I really got to see when I was small was what my brother would bring home and I always loved watching it with him.
I didn't start buying anime until I was about 15, and that is when I became an Otaku. Ever since then, I have watched and bought anime almost religiously. So much so that I am running out of room to put all of my DVDs.
When did I get into Computers?
I have always loved computers since the day my dad showed us the new 286 he bought. I thought that thing was the coolest until my mother bought a P1 running at only 90Mhz. Then that thing was the ruler of all. It wasn't until I started working at McDonalds that I was able to get my brother to build me one. He built me an AMD system running (at the time it was new) a 750Mhz slot processor, 256 megs of ram, 32 meg nVidia video card, and Windows ME. The sheer power, speed and stability of this machine just blew me away and I then caught the computer bug. I found myself just messing around with it all the time trying to learn how it worked. I would take it apart, put it back together, tweak with windows, and tweak with the settings in Bios (which wasn't always a good idea). Soon enough I was able to learn enough to start upgrading my system. I then upgraded to 512 megs of ram and got my Pinnacle DC10+ so I could start video editing. I wasn't able to do an extensive system upgrade until I joined the army in 2002. As soon as I got to my first duty station I totally rebuilt my whole system which consisted of an Asus motherboard running a 1.78 AMD XP processor, 1 gig of DDR/2100 266 FSB, a 64 meg nVidia video card (which I upgraded again later to a 128 nVidia), and added a 40 gig 7200 RPM Western Digital Hard drive for Video Editing, and windows XP. Lets just say that I still didn't know as much as I needed to know and it took forever for me to get rid of all the bugs in my system. My system was down almost every week (usually several times a week) but it was a good learning experience. Once again, with my brother's help I was able to get it into a stable working order. Ever since then I have had a few problems but nothing fatal yet. I have my current system specs listed at the bottom of this page.
What inspired me to start making AMVs?
Not too soon after I got my first computer, Eric sent me 3 video tapes full of AMVs that he and many other creators had made. These creators included: Kusoyaro, Doki Doki Productions, Maboroshi Studios, Big Big Truck, and several others. After watching them all, I was instantly captivated and I wanted to make my own. My biggest inspiration was my brother Fly High Studios. It's sad that he stopped making them but I understand why he did (I won't go into that).
