  • Profile: Okay, so I have only fully produced one AMV, not the greatest accomplishment in the world, considering it isn't even all that great. I really need to get a hold of some good software, such as Adobe Premier, and some DVD quality clips. Sorry that I can't be making the videos I want, I don't want to create another disaster. I have about 9 video ideas going now, it is just a matter of finding the clips and what not, you know how it is.

Anyways, enough of my AMV creating woes. If anything, I am more of an AMV collector than creator. I've burned 20 CDs full of AMVs from this site and others, and I love watching them! Especially when they are videos to shows that I have seen so many times before and I want to see something a bit new and refreshing. Does anyone out there have such a craving to download these things? It's a wonderful way to pass a boring day, or not so boring day, and I keep getting more ideas of what to do and what not do should I produce another AMV of my own. I am quite the critic, though I have yet to leave actual opinions on AMVs for this site. I might need to do that, though I think my criticism may be to harsh.

Some helpful tips for making less annoying videos:
    1. Too many transitions is NOT effective, especially when they appear to be used at random, use them sparingly if you do not have enough footage
    2. One of the most over-used bands is Linkin Park, and yes, people do get annoyed watching these type of videos over and over again, but I am personally a big fan of this group and as long as the video matches up with the song, don't be discouraged in making it!
    3. It is best to make videos that reflect some part of you; it's a form of art, just as poetry and fan art is, only, AMVs are way cooler ;)
    4. Try to avoid using scenes in the same order than someone else has used them in his/her own video, people like to see things NEW
    5. DBZ.... avoid it at all costs, sorry guys, but everyoen is sick of DBZ, we've all seen way too much of it on CN
    6. I personally love to see more than one anime in a video, it's even better when you can combine them to such a song that it seems like a story is being told, it can be the equivalent of a well-written crossover fanfic, if done properly
    7. View lots of different videos, even if they include animes you've never seen before and make mental notes of what looks good and what doesn't, but don't copy the creator's methods, just use it for brainstorming, pretend you are writing an essay, everything has to be well planned out from your own mind but you can use integrate the ideas of someone else subtely

And that is it for now, I know, not much of a personal profile, but I can get to that later when I actually have something more to contribute to this wonderful community, if ever you want me to review a video for you, and are not afraid of harsh criticism, please drop me an e-mail or contact me via one of the messanging services below:
