Okay, um... yeah...
I am Cheru. I'm a freshman in college.
I study Japanese. It's my favorite-est subject. I've had an interest in Japanese culture since I was in 7th grade (when I started watching anime... other than Pokemon...). But I wasn't able to take it until I was in 10th grade, so I'm only in a 200 level course. Dakara, atashi no nihongo wa dame yo... I only actually started watching AMVs when I was about in 10th grade, and had access to Kazaa Lite.
The first AMV I publicised was "Makenai, Mamo-chan" *points down* It means "I won't give up, Mamo-chan" (Or Mamoru, which was Darien's name in the Japanese version). It was something I thought up at the last minute, because when I was submitting it, I saw it said "Title," and I thought it would look tacky if it just said "Unknown" or "No Name." The first word of the version of the song with words is "Makenai," and it's what most people know the song by, so I just slapped that on, and put Mamo-chan with it. But it does fit the video ;)
I've actually made other AMVs prior to that one, but my computer suddenly crashed, and I lost everything. Although they had a lot of mistakes, it would have been a lot easier to clean them up than to start all over... which I still haven't done... But I have a good reason. They were Gravitation AMVs. When I downloaded Gravitation, it hadn't been licensed in the US yet. After my comp got revived, Gravitation had been licensed (Random Policy: The only video material I download are AMVs, Anime which hasn't been licensed in the US and anime I already own, for the sake of manipulating it by means of my computer. I delete my stuff after it's been licensed. Cuz I'm nice like that. ^_^) So, I couldn't download it and I couldn't afford to buy the DVDs (I still can't manage to extract DVD material correctly anyway --;;) I'm rambling, aren't I?
I have a lot of ideas, but I lack either the capacity to get the DVD info, the money to buy the DVDs, the footage to execute them, or the time to do it all. So, you get the three vids.
Yeah, I like anime. The first one I liked was Pokemon. I still do... No laughing... It was a fluke, really. I was watching the shows I normally did in the afternoon of 6th grade, but I left for a few minutes, to do God knows what. I returned to find that my brother had turned on Pokemon. I was angry, because I don't like change. But I watched it, and I loved it. In the summer of the same year, I noticed that Sailor Moon had the same type of animation. I started watching it, and liked it too. I later found out that it was Japanese animation, called "anime." Say it with me now. A-ni-me. I noticed this for several other cartoons, and watched them. Since winter of 7th grade, I've seeked out anime. I've liked Kodocha since I streamed it from... uh, some site. (About 8th grace) I couldn't get it, though, because I didn't have mIRC (and probably at that time would have had any idea how to use it anyway). The only one I successfully saw was the first episode. All the rest of them skipped around. Finally, I got to see the first 12 eps from animesuki.com. But they stopped offering them after it got licensed. Now I'm on the path to find all the DVDs I read the Marmalade Boy mang first, then I downloaded the anime. I got to the first 8 episodes before I found out it was licensed. I now own the first box set (19 episodes). Those are my 2 favorite anime ^^
I've grown to hate dubs... there are too many reasons why. If brinkster ever stops being a piece of crap, wait, no, that's never gonna happen. Well, if I'm ever able to upload stuff again, I'll post a link to my rant.
I read manga. Yay. I've liked it since I was in 7th grade. The first one I've read was Sailor Moon. A lot of people like the anime better, but I like the manga better. It's easier to understand, and you don't have those pesky battle-the-enemy episodes that are all virtually the same that have next to nothing to do with the actual story. Sailor Moon's manga is much more to the point.
So, yeah, I don't know what else to put... *randomly dances*
