  • @Taite 2010-07-26 13:28:10 That was possibly your best response to anything i have ever said lmao

Thanks for sharing your opinion, and i agree on a lot of your points. I do think that noobs never think to use google or find things out on their own. There is a level of effort that has to be put in. The good editors were not made to be the noob's helper slaves |: Instead, i think new editors should try things out on their own. You can figure out how to add an effect on your own, especially if you have used wmm before. But, for some reason, noobs will come up to editors and ask for things without even giving it a thought. Its very rude.

I will help a new editor if he asks, but i try to encourage them to use google and just find things out on their own.

I'm glad you understand that its a rant, and that it is completely subjective and definitly not factual. I know that not all of org is the way i described it and generally i have had some decent convos with some of the editors on here, like MD and Kenzichu. They are friendly and kind and definitely people i enjoy talking too.
  • @Code 2010-07-26 11:29:24 A lot of the major problems ive seen with newbies attempting to get better is that they dont know how to use this damn site LOL
and like i stated before, the noobs wont attempt anything on their own, they have to have the big kids do it for em.

Also, I probably wouldn't have been noticed unless i put fame on the forums...but your right, that doesn't mean you cant get noticed in a normal way...it just seems like the faster, more reasonable way.

I understand that not all editors hate on videos on org, but i think the majority does. Personally i think im getting attention from the wrong editors on here. Code, you're a good editor and i enjoy your critiques because they're not always full of hate.

Also, i apologize for my grammar...i actually was homeschooled english and i understand that writing properly is important. I tend to use small shortcuts when i type on the internet but when i write papers for school i do not type like this.

Also, another thing that bugs me about org is the love for raw. Theres so many god damn debates over which is better, raw or effects, and personally im so freaking sick of seeing absolutely no effects in a video. The idea isn't to have no effects....the idea is to make them subtle. Nostromo people, nostromo.

lol but i contradict myself as usual, there is no wrong way to edit, im just saying that giving everyone a chance is important and i feel like a lot of editors are pushed down or away on top of someone else with possibly less skill.

and yes. There are jerk-holes on every website. Agreed.
  • @Code 2010-07-26 00:00:48 Meh... Really, about 90% of it was just pure negativity and not much on facts to back up opinions. It wasn't something I enjoyed reading in the slightest. >_>'

Good journalism and good writing in general is about balance. Keeping your personal opinions aside, and using facts to discern what you wish to share with the world. If you only state your anger and resentment at something, it's not going to change anything. FoxNews is a perfect example of this. When they pooled their anger at Mass Effect and decreed it to be unholy and all satantic and stuff, what happened? The sales figures went through the roof!

Many times, directing anger at something only ends up getting the opposite reaction you want. That's something I've learned over the years as a journalist. To truely get the understanding of the people you write to, you have to develop a sense of trust with them.

I dont think you understood the point of my rant. First off, i never wanted any kind of reaction other than for people to read it and see what was wrong with the community. I dont care if they agree or not, but i will admit that id like them too. I feel that there is way too much negative things about our community swimming around and almost none of it is being fixed or cared about by anyone. If this truly is a community then i think we should work together, instead of constantly hating on each other for trying to do the same shit. I have noted that most of youtube is teenagers, and thus they are probably immature and dont think before they act, but org also has its stupid fucked up issues and ive noted that a lot of the people on here are over 20 years old.

Its time to grow up and realize that shitting on people affects them, especially in a small community like ours. Internet or not.
