  • AMVs Argentina // Theories about... // IC and a new amv is coming 2012-02-28 08:29:30 http://amv-argentina.foroactivo.net/forum

I like when I'm part of the creation of new forums. This forum is for the argentinan people, since that community is highly growing, so I wanted to share my experience as helper of the forum

    IC

Thanks God there are still good friends outside. PBE made me think something: It's useless of my part to make intros and outros, if I first should improve the video itself, since this is not an intro/outro contest and their presence is not obligatory required. Fortunately I did in time, so seems I'm one of the last buddies to feature his amv in the Soul Team so expect it soon in the org.

I have to say this one brought me several things:

    -Experience at making Horror amvs
    -New buddies
    -New styles of edition
-New anime to the animeteca (The place where I put all my anime)

I was kinda frustated that I couldn't make the amv I planned. An amv that would be probably be loved by girsl and hated by us. But my footage just experienced several problems that made me change to the Horror genre.

If I don't have bad memory one of the editors that already said that wants to see that amv soon is JadeCharm, since she has already made an amv about that anime. Which kinda surprises me :O

But I'll make it since nobody used the song in the IC ;)

Theories about how culture affects the views of amvs

In the VCAs we already had this issue: Why amvs get more attention in certain community and why they are ignored in others. Code, if you're reading this journal entry, I was already thinking of the possibilty of making a Lip Flapper episode about this issue.

Let's bring examples with my own videos:

Concordia: The amv is not well known into the org, but the amv is very appreciated in the russian community O.o

The Voice of a Kawaii Generation and Pletora: Both videos are kinda (uh, should I watch it or not), but the Japanese community loves those videos that they even call them MADs ones. This is not the only community, since the hispanic community also loves them although they don't have an idea of what kind of lyrics are there.

Also there's another thing I'll like to mention here:

This is an issue that not only covers the view of an amv, but also the betatesting. Practically I have been betatested by all the possible communities around the world: Hungarian, Russian, French, Italian, German, Hispanic, American, even Japanese (whom are the hardest ones in the betatesting O.o) and there's something true: every community has its own facts about giving feedback to amvs.
  • ICs and its facts // A new chance to go to... 2012-02-24 07:54:59 I'm still surprised. At my case I will have my time reduced to edit a new amv. Shhh, but it's true that when I'm stressed many things may happen. Like what happened in the last IC I entered.

I just beg now to find the correct song that fits me. All the 2012 animes are ready to appear.

    .................................................................................................................................

I have been selected by the Kaplan, a program that offers the chance to medical students to go to USA and Canada to study a speciality in Medicine. Although I'm already a medical doctor, I don't have yet a speciality and I'm still young so in theory I count as a medical student. And the best part is that I was chosen thanks to the ideas I gave about new researchs about the drugs and medicaments, since that's the area I like the most.
The Boss of the Kaplan even told me: You're the first student that instead of saying stuff like 'I'll like a new chance to study' you proposed ideas, which is what we're looking for

That means that if everything goes fine, I will probably choose Houston as the city I'll like to start to study. Or I can choose Canada, the home of Ashley, William and several canadian members. Or even any city of USA in case Houston doesn't have the speciality I need.

So that's it. Does that mean that I'll end like istiv did? Only time will say that ;)
  • Contest ZA Up Winners // Magnus // Interesting challenges for the IC 2012-02-22 09:03:44 While the Level Up is being held at amvnews, ZonaAMV also has its own version of the Level Up :O

This is made in order to make the members of ZA that have never shown their faces in online contests gain experience so that when the time to join to contests comes, they will have an idea of how these contests are organized nor to mention how they are judged.

But this is the antithesis of the Level Up, since it's very different to the conditions of the Level Up.

Anyway, here are the winners of the ZA Up:

    http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?vid_id=186084

Counting with the help of neutral judges that don't know the editors from ZA was clever. After all, there could have been the possibility that choosing members of ZA as judges, would have predestined the results, so that's why I decided that org members judged the event.

    Magnus:

I still insisted with all the people I knew that had friendship with him that we should have done something for him. I even planned to broadcast at least one amv from him in the Valentine MEP :(

The cancer is just a cruel disease, not only because some of them kills you in short time, but also because the psychologic impact that made in people around is really annoying.

I shouldn't be surprised since this is for what I studied for and I should be used to, but still knowing that I had a talk the day before he died still shocks me.

Farewell fellow swedish editor, it's too bad that you're not longer with us, but we'll do the best appllying the few tips you gave me

    ................................................................................................................

V2 of Let me Know is done, and I'm in shock: Vovan Koperativ clapped that version.

Normally my russian mates are very rude with me but this time something changed: The version made is shorter, they didn't expect the ending which is something great, and if everything goes fine I should be done before the start of the IC

I'm even surprised he'll enter into the IC. He wants me to edit with all I know about AE, so that means that I should go hardcore if I want to have a chance in the event. Otherwise it'll be just another amv

  • Champion of my last IC and now a new one? 2012-02-19 12:08:58 I still the last time I joined an IC. Still remmebering the battles and the 72 hours

Winning one was just something unexpected. Promising angelface to join the next edition of the Soul Team Iron Chef was something I forgot but she reminded me that. So here I am: returning again to an IC after 2 years of abscence.

But there's just an interesting fact: This is not only going to be a duel with the rest of team. I have my duel against the person that earned the title of 'rival'.

That means that the video I'll prepare is going to be a bit different to my usual style. I have been training since friday so seems I'll be able to do it. I just now beg nothing bad happens this week.

So I'll have to use some AE, lip synch and crossovers. Interesting mix for an event is supposed to be done under critical conditions (for the people that works of course)

AMV Let me Know is now done in its V2. VovanKoperativ was right about not overusing long scenes, the baby now looks sexier than the V1

Coming soon in premiere, I think that will be my proyect for the Japan Expo
  • Apocalypse in the Prisons: Worst tragedy ever in Honduras 2012-02-16 07:55:48 Some of you might not be awared but yesterday was a sad day for Honduras.

The worst tragedy ever in the history of deaths in prisons took place in the city of Comayagua, Honduras. A fire that started in a cell, killed 360 (?) recluses

I remembered visiting the prison of Comayagua when I was younger. Damn, I never imagined a fire would have started in what was considered the modern jail in Honduras.

I had to take a decision: Attend the patients or going directly to the fire in seacrh of survivors. So I decided to return again to the Red Cross and join the team searching for them. Today I'll take a look to some of the patients that will come to San Pedro Sula, and I think was the best. After all I'm not the only doctor in charge of 2 sections of an hospital

If you want more info about what happened, here you got a link:
