  • AKROSS: It's time to change 2012-03-14 11:11:55 As I previously said in past entries, don't believe that AKROSS Con is the only event that the AKROSS celebrates. There are several events that are only for the members of the community.

    Taking part in the community helps specially when there are several helpful articles. And what about the feedback? :3

    But problems in the association is that we need to renew the current staff. For this next AC, I'll have to take care again of the newcomers of our event, as I advised several amvers to not violate the rules. It'll be a mess to lose important entries just because authors insisted in uploading the videos :/

    Also the modifications to the rules since some of them are not necessary in theory.

    EvilSpider as the head of the community expects to see something different this year. I already told it in the forums: We needed a special category celebrating the anniversary of the association, although De29v101L and many others supported the idea, we didn't reach an agreement.

    I have already taken the responsabilities to co-help the event in order to make the entries premier quickly. Hoping we can have a brilliant contest this year

    Needed some kind of practice in order to see how's my current interest in the amv making, seems I'll have the JE entry video soon, but I'm surprised I could manage to finish an IC in less time

    Are we ready now my testers? The V2.5 should be ready with more improvements after this IC! 
  • The Judge: New Anime Fest in my city 2012-03-08 20:06:52 After dissapearing some days from the AMV World due to several problems we're currently having into the hospital (a fire happened yesterday) I want to relax, so I guess this place is the only option I have.

    I have been wondering what will happen the day one of the org members decide to join an Anime Fest hosted in Honduras. It will be awesome to count with participations of international editors, since I'm starting to get bored of taking the responsability to feature every time a new Fest is celebrated.

    So I decided to take the job as a judge for the event this time. I will have to feature at least 1 amv since the judge's staff should also be active according to the rules of the hosting committee.

    I guess this should be the best for the little community of Otakus since I'm not planning to win again and need more entries this year. But A certain rule that says that only Japanese music can be accepted as audio seriously dissapointed me :(

    This will be also my last presentation in an Anime Fest before moving to state my new residence into the Hospital. I got all my luggage ready to start living in the Hospital for the next 3 years.

    Dunno how that will affect my time with AMV Making but I'm hoping to stay for several years into the AMV World ;)

    Anyway. I'm passing a bad time in the betatesting. The russians are decided to help me improve skills :O

    I never imagined that rdc himself was going to share with me some info about how to manage the effects once I go to AE. I have been asked to remake my entry since I can see that it's failing at certain points and the need of effects is just inminent.

    But Aimo and Mystyk haven't realized that this betatesting will be the longest ever from all my time as an AMVer. But it's worthy enough. I never imagined that I was going to learn several facts about the AE so quickly.

    Level Up? Perhaps, but I'm not allowed to say that. Only the crowd will say that ;)

    Doing a little promotion to the country where I live:

    Honduras is a country located in Central America. It's a little country with a small population, but with lots of mysteries between death and life. I mean it

    If you ever choose to come here, I recommend you to visit two places:

    -Bay Islands. Or as we call: Islas de la Bahia (Bay Islands). Their beachs are the best of the best from C.A, until today I haven't watched other kind of beachs that could compare with them, I mean, you don't get white sands, dolphins, pines, beautiful girls everywhere and english speakers, since everybody in the Bay Islands speaks english. I visit them everyyear due to my aunt's house and I always have the best vacations there. We even receive people from Hollywood there :O

    -Copan Ruins. Mayas, oh yeah. The 2012 predictions have increased the turism around the Copan Ruins, but it's just a beautiful center, the Copan Ruins counts with a museum, a souvenir shop and the atmosphere of a colonial city (Expression we use to refer to cities that seem to belong to a different age).

    Today I presented a new article about Schizophrenia. This is a mental disease that leads the patient to ditort the reality, as he/she listen voices, thinks everybody is against him/her, or weird conducts, weird moods, and an impact in the way the patient has relationships with the family and friends.

    So passing to what we discussed today:

    -What should we do in case we find schizophrenias that are resistent to the medicines?
    -Is it possible to invent a new terapy in psychology about a "Mental Training" for the patiens? This means: The patient has to learn that the illusions he/she will have are not real and he/she has to learn to "ignore" them. Otherwise the illusions will become so creepy that it will lead them to suicide in the worst of cases.

    It received a good acceptance between the comunity of psychiatrist. I can't believe that with a young age and I was able to complete an article about a disease that needs attention from the international community. Some American doctors were during the presentation, so they asked me to come to the release of the DSM V, since more info is required about the Schizophrenia.

    Oh and I forgot to mention:

    So I applied for the Kaplan Exam. The American coleages were surprised how easy was for me to calculate everything about the medicines, since Pharmacology is my favorite Part of the Medicine, and this exam was like a chance to see how much I know about them. Waiting for the results soon

    In this ocassion, I'll like to request your help in this little article I'll like to write about the Theories of How culture affects AMV viewing

    After an extensive talk in Skype, I guess it will be interesting to know about the different opinion of how different communities watch the amv in different aspects

    I'll like to count with a big amount of opinions possible, and from different countries. I already count with some russian and french opinions, but I want to extend this to the rest of communities

    If you feel like you want to help, PM me. Bashar, I was actually thinking if you feel in the mood to give an extended comment for this.
