Usually when I go walking at night in the cold my mind is eased and I generally feel better about everything because I just think about everything and sort it in my head.
Did this work? No. Actually, thinking annoyed me even more to the point were I'm too frustrated to do anything except be annoyed. If it suddenly started snowing that wouldn't even help and I love snow.
