The purpose of a journel...or not....

//Begin Soap-Box
You know, I've never been one to write in a blog, or any sort of online journel. Short updates about what is going on, fine, but never been one to pour out my life story onto a web page where anyone bored enough could find it and read it. I mean...what's the point?
For one thing, most people use their blogs to whine about their life. Reality check: no one cares. Seriously. At least no one who you couldn't phone up and whine to outloud. So why do people feel the need to shout their misery to an uninterested world at large? I realise that misery loves company, but to me this just screams pathetic.
Secondly, and this astounds me even more, is when people use blogs to rant and rave about their lives and the people they know. I've discovered that some of these people really don't know a few things about computers that they really should. First off, if you give someone a URL, and that person types the URL into a browser the browser will remember the URL. This means anyone else using said computer can backtrack to that URL. Now, if YOU give a URL to one person, then use that URL to bash another person who is associated. If that person uses the same computer they have the possibility of seeing what you wrote. Correct?
Now, this is where some of these blog writers get really interesting. Because when confronted with what they wrote, a few get defensive and state that "it's like a diary, I'm not going to edit it for my readers!"
Get a clue!!! You are writing stuff on the "World Wide Web". People are going to read it. Period, end, done. If you didn't want people to read it you wouldn't post it on the web. If you only wanted a select few to read it, it's called e-mail.
Point in fact, if you bash someone online, expect google to find it and expect the person to find it, and expect that person to be appropriately pissed off at you. Duh! Don't say you feel guilty, don't try to justify that you may or may have not given the person the URL, and don't tell say that an online blog is like a diary. A diary is a little book you keep for personal reflection. If you are smart, it is locked. It is for your eyes only, not for posting on the internet.

New Harddrive bought. Soon to have 160GB in my computer. 40GB for programs, 50 for anime files, 20 for music, 10 for misc documents and will prolly hide the remaining 40GB in case anything comes crashing down on me.
Should be completely installed by Tuesday (I hope) and then we begin the AMV's for animethon 11. Three in the works. Hopefully they all turn out.

Well, thanks to the oh so marvelous Sweetpea, It's in the Bag Studios now has a webpage. Not everything is up yet (duh, I got the password at 4 hours ago!) but the two completed amvs will both be up inside an hour. (All the Things She said is still uploading as I type this.) The webcomic probably won't be up for a bit, and the cosplay pics from Animethon10 are in process.
All I have to say is it's about time! :)
Now, as soon as I have a little more room on my computer we can start the next vid...I My Me! Strawberry Eggs here we come! :)
