  • To be-ta or not to be-ta? 2006-07-22 12:49:51 I'm starting to wonder if I should start beta-ing my videos. I did do some betas for the Ayumix track and I think it ended up better than what it would have been. Now the current video I am working on I am torn between letting it be beta-ed and probably shreaded for using silly techniques or letting it be beta-ed and get help figuring out how to execute those techniques in a better way. One scene in particular I would like to know how to do in a better way because the way I am doing it is slightly off. I was literally stuck for weeks trying to figure out how to correct the problem. Alas, I took the scene out. I want it in though. GRRRRRRRRR Then again, I am used to working by myself with not much outside help. It could be stunting my creator's growth. At the same time I know I am learning the stuff without bugging no one else. Eternal newbie syndrome!
  • 2006-07-03 21:25:29 did some editing today. well i'm still doing it now. how it's looking i'll likely get to the frist chorus tonight. i tried to do something experimental but it really isn't working out. my knowledge with those things are limited and i've been stuck on that part technically for weeks now so i changed it up a little and did something else. it's kind of a shame but oh well. i do want to finish this before i go to school.

i also got another amv idea but i don't have the dvds yet so it'll have to wait.
  • 2006-06-23 08:55:42 got back from the science conference. it sucked the life out of me a little. however, i did get a new idea for a video. BUT i can't do anything until i finish this one. i swear if i didn't do that thing for iron chef idol 3 i probably will crank out only 1 video a year. i guess it's expected though. my output has steadily decreased since my first year here. i should watch what i have so far. i could edit some more this weekend. still i want to finish watching kimagure orange road first. the last dvd, ova and movies are left. the movie is on the way but i don't know when it'll get here. come on ADV!
  • @STB if you are reading this 2006-06-15 00:29:06 Titles can be a bit tricky. Since I just thought up of the title for my next video (if it ever comes out) I can tell you how I went through the process. I don't know if anyone else does this or not but I look for clues of a title in the actual footage I am working with first. Like Soldier's Hell for example, Sailor Moon was going through hell in that video. She is a soldier for love and justice. So I spliced the two ideas together to get Soldier's Hell. I typically try to focus on the theme but sometimes that is not enough.

Next I will look at the major characters. For Riceball Love, the major character was Tohru. In Fruits Basket she is known as the riceball. The video shows her giving love to everyone else and vice versa so Riceball Love.

Third, if I'm really lost I'll try to take elements out of the actual song itself. This is divided into two categories: 1. Taking part of the title and using it with the concept (Tomorrow from Annie and making my video title Tomorrow's Not Today) 2. Taking a lyric in the song that is not in the title but still conveys the message that I want to give (In the case of my video in the works.)

Usually my videos go untitled until the project is finished or in some cases I have a clear concept of how it will flow and end. Don't know if that helped or not but who knows. :P
