JOURNAL: zerofoxie (Cynthia )

  • 28 hits and STILL no opinions? 2003-11-05 01:24:41 I'm still hoping to receive some feedback from people about "Sakura Drops" before moving on to my next project. I'm looking for ANY kind of criticism to help me evolve as an AMV artist, so please help me out if you download my vid T_T Peas? T___T
  • Sakura Drops is now available for download! 2003-10-23 14:56:04 Enjoy, and please review it if you have time :D That will help me figure out what I need to improve on (other than quality of the video rips :P).
  • Behold, for it will soon be available online >D 2003-10-22 01:48:04 I'm currently uploading "Sakura Drops" so it will hopefully be available within the next 24 hours. It's a pain to do this on a 56k, but luckily my connections are always great (no disconnects and fast as hell).

I've consulted my friends, who have DSL and are quickly becoming AMV otaku, and asked them about my video. I wanted an opinion from people who have seen the best and worst to give me a general rating on how my first vid came out. They said that overall, it's pretty good for my first attempt at editing :D (Well, exact words also included "It's WAY better than most of this crappy stuff we've already seen...") I also have at least one of them obsessing over "Sakura Drops" because of the video :D

    Hm...future plans....

As for my next video, I'll probably break down and use another Utada Hikaru song, "Colors." I really like that song. Before I do anything, however, I'm going to have to make more room on my laptop. I'll also edit out the parts I want to salvage from source footage so I don't have 2 gigs of crap laying around per episode I rip o_O''' I'll make this one NTSC-standard size from the start (640x480 4:3 ratio) so no quality is lost. This was one issue I had with "Sakura Drops": The bloody movie is LETTERBOXED. Argh.

The series I'd like to AMV are Fushigi Yuugi, Ayashi no Ceres, X, Fruits Basket, and that's about it for now at least. I have (and have access TO) a lot mroe series than that, but I don't want to really cater to what's popular right now (i.e. Chobits, Ranma). I'd like to eventually make an Evangelion video, but of course, it's hard to form ideas for one when you have yet to hear a song that's suitable for a series. I pretty much already have songs set for the other series, or in the case of "Colors," *multiple* series. I'm going to leave it at that, though, because I'd like to take things one step at a time.

Now if only I could get my "I'm going to be a director!" boyfriend to start making them, too...I wanna see his stuff...he has to potential, but I'm curious to see if he can make something of it.
  • I'm actually producing an AMV!! 2003-10-13 15:26:53 When I first signed up on here, I just made an account to be associated with my production company in case I ever decided to start making AMVs. Well, the day has come, and I'm currently working on one in Premier :) Don't expect directorial genious on my debut or anything. I'm actually just trying to get the feel of how to put things together. I'm making it for "Reflections" (Rurouni Kenshin 2nd OAV) and using the song "Sakura Drops" by Utada Hikaru. Maybe I should search to see if I mistakingly did something that's overdone? Oh, well. Can't change it now, but that'll be something to keep in mind for next time.
