    And my knee hurts again. ;_;
  • Dusting off the canoe 2008-08-10 20:08:59 Yeiweh and I decided to head out for the day today. Before doing so I checked the weather and saw that there was a chance of rain/thunderstorms for this afternoon. Granted, it was about 10:30am so I figured we were fine.

    Low and behold, while riding the bus to Wawa, it started raining and the clouds ahead of us were not looking all that nice. By the time we got off the bus and into the store, it began coming down pretty hard. After buying our coffee and breakfast, we hopped back out only to find the little shower had become a decent thunderstorm complete with plenty of cloud to ground lightning and heavy rain. The nearest shelter was a bus stop about 1/2 of a mile from the Wawa. So we both run there getting drenched in the process.

    About 15 minutes later the bus came and while riding, the clouds broke up a little and the rain slowed to a very light sprinkle by the time we got to Borders. After browsing for about 45 minutes, Yeiweh went to pay for her two Death Note mangas, but before she did, we heard More thunder and it was pouring AGAIN. So we wandered around the store for about 30 more minutes, until the thunder stopped and the rain slowed.

    At this point the view of the Center City skyline was nothing but black clouds. Very nasty. Luckily, the sky towards the mall were much brighter and the clouds were breaking again. So the two of us make the short 15 minute walk there with the rain starting again just as we entered. Spent about an hour in the mall buying the first volume of "Neurotically Yours" (Foamy rants) as well as the first volume of YGO season 4 (Why Yeiweh wasted $6 on it I'll never know).

    So we left the mall, and the weather was still holding up, but it felt like an afternoon in November, not August. Anywho, we decided (or rather I did) to walk from the mall to the local Best Buy so I could replace my MP3 player's headphones which shorted out a week or so ago. We got to Best Buy with no further rain problems and after the stop, went to a pet store close by so Yeiweh could look at the $1000 puppies.

    That done, we sat at the bus stop and waited for the bus. Nearly 20 minutes later, IT POURED AGAIN. Luckily we didn't get wet this time and got back to the apartment all dry. But the storms didn't stop then. Within 10 minutes of getting back, ANOTHER thunderstorm came through producing the loudest thunder clap of the day. You know, the kind that shakes the whole building, and was accompanied by the FOURTH DOWNPOUR in just over 4 hours.

    It was about 4:30 when it all stopped. So I hopped onto the computer to check the weather again. Much to my dismay, there was ANOTHER line of storms coming though; the kind that look orange, red, and even purple on the coloured radar. Due to come through before 7pm I got the laundry done since I have to go partially outside to get to the laundry room.

    So 7 came and it started pouring harder then ever today. I could barely see the other side of the building which is no more then 20 yards away. And of course the lightning and thunder were abundant. Hell, the lights flickered about 4 times. It was so bad that I had to shut my PC down to prevent it from frying. I even heard the power strip buzz one time the lights flicked after I shut it down.

    So that makes about 4 thunderstorms and 4 MAJOR downpours in less than 12 hours. Not something you see around these parts often. But it was nice to see a rainbow arching over the apartments after the last one.

    Now the sky is fucking gold... Weird.
  • 2008-08-07 11:36:05 What ever happened to releasing episodes once a week. I've been sitting on episode 39 of Shugo Chara! for over a week now and I go and check the page, like I do every day and low and behold, we are up to 42... WTF!?

    My old days with Kanon back in 2006 had episode releases every Sunday like clockwork. This thing better get licensed once its over.
  • ugh 2008-08-06 11:26:20 Now it repeating what sounds like 'cow'.

  • *Stabs self in eye with a hot french fry 2008-08-06 11:08:00 Or are they still called freedom fries these days... >.>

    VLC is frozen on my damn PC and it keeps repeating part of a word over and over and over. FOR 3 MINUTES I tried closing the damn thing. and it just finally disappeared. I don't know what's up with these eps, but since we hit double digits, VLC keeps freesing or performs an illegal operation.
