  • Status: Pain 2008-12-11 07:20:59 Ever try walking on a wet tile floor? Slippery, right? I've worked in the Seafood and Meat departments in my grocery store for almost 4 1/2 years and I've gotten used to the slippery floors. But there are times when I still lose my feet and take a random tumble. But nothing really bad; just a bruised butt and ego.

    So there I was last night. I just finished cleaning the grinders (what we use to make ground beef) and I was walking to grab the trashbag out of the bin when my feet slipped out from under me and I fell flat on my back. Nothing bad right? Usually not, but this time I fell, the back of my head smacked the floor with a good thud. It was hard enough to whip my hat off. I was back on my feet a few seconds later once I recovered from the initial concussion of the blow. It left me with a nice pounding headache but no other ill effects which ruled out something like an actual concussion (blurred vision, fuzzy memory, ect...)

    The headache lasted for most of the night and when I got on the trolley, I noticed that my neck was hurting if I tried to hold it up and turn it all the way to the left. Unfortunately I didn't file and injury report since I've seen many an employee get shifted to remedial duties like bagging after some injury. I did not want to risk that so I'll take my chances. Though IcyHot and 2,500mgs of Acetaminophen aren't really helping. But I'm off until Sunday thanks to a well placed personal holiday. So I have a good amount of time to recover.

    And the internet problems... while the ISP was messed up most of the week, turns out there is something up with my router. Whenever I plug my modem into it, my computer cannot access the internet which is annoying since I cannot use my new PC for gaming like I want to. Now I gotta call Linksys and find out what the hell is wrong with it. Worked fine until last night when I got booted from Warhammer. Thank god I was not RvRing or there would be some angry people at me...

    Everything seems better when paired with classical music. For any situation there seems to be a piece of music for that. Nothing like driving a Warthog while Co-Opping in Halo with "Ride of the Valkyries" blaring in the background...

  • Rush Rush, Hurry Hurry... 2008-12-10 09:28:16 Damn RCN and their damn blackouts. Fecking internet has been on and off for most of the northeast since Monday morning (~4:00 am) I came back a little Monday afternoon and evening, but was gone when we got home last night.

    Blah. Lost some valuable Warhammer playing time.  
  • Motivation... 2008-12-06 20:48:19 Sick... god I feel like crap. ;_;

    I've been trying to make a full AMV ever since I finished "Shana" back in April. I sent a beta of an idea I had to Code and SFPhoenix a month or so ago, but that one fell on it's face. I got a hit of inspiration and put together about 1:30 of a video using "5 Centimeter Per Second" and "The Place Promised in Our Early Days." But I ran out of ideas at that point. Those who paid attention to "Stay With Me" will see that I said my next video would be "Kalidonic Limelight." Another video that never took off.

    So what to do?I want to edit something, but I just cannot get myself to come up with an idea. And the ideas I do have seem so out of this world in complexity that I'm pretty sure I'll fail. Or at least not figure out how to do what I want and toss the video in the trash.

    How do all of you who do 2-4 videos a year come up with these ideas? I need some of that muse. I love editing, but if I don't have something to actually create, I cannot do anything.

    So sad...
