5 Days to Go in the FDF

Imagine... Only 5 days to go and my military duty in the Finnish Defence Forces comes to an end. Exactly 265 days in the army behind me. Many stories to tell, many friends made, lots of events happened and a whole lot of laughter included in those days, along with mental breaking... But that's at an end now. No more combat training, wakeup shouts, trips to the woods or meaninglessly minor tasks. :)
Next Thursday is the day, mark it, because that's when arrival lot of 1/06 (270) goes home! - Marching 2006-09-22 13:19:38 I wonder how many people have marched 28km, on a warm sunny day, while wearing about 10kg worth of military equipment? My feet still ache...
- TJ (Today Left) 2006-09-17 08:54:34 Only 18 days left of my compulsory military service - ONLY 18 slow days left! I can't yet even comprehend how little that actually is. I guess it'll finally hit me when we start returning our equipment and weapons back to the storage. One last trial is still left, though, and that's none other than a week long camp for the newcommers. Meaning all I have to do is drive a day or two and kill the rest of the week doing nothing. What a glorious feeling it must be when that's over with...

Animecon IV - Quick Report

This weekend sure was a good one, as I experienced Animecon IV with two others from the same unit from the military, and the show Sivis and others had put up for AMVs this year was a success. This year was a tricky one, because of me being in the military and Venomi not participating at all. These things will be fixed next year, because I want to participate more.
Things I liked about the con
-good cosplayers (a few lovely ones too...)
-interesting panels
-overall atmosphere
-big selection of manga
Dislikes
-location (the building was so unfit for the event and mass of people)
-merchandise/anime selection too small
-weather (the air outside was surprisingly moist)
Overall a nice event to participate in. Maybe I have to cosplay too next year... scary.
