My PC wouldn't start up. So I ran system recovery from the install disc. None of the utilities did the trick so I ended up opening the command line. After a few hours of scanning through various forums on my laptop, I figured out how to fix it.
bootrec.exe /fixmbr
E:|boot|bootsect.exe /nt60 all /force
del C:|boot|bcd
bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd
shutdown -r -t 0
It works!
