I never write in this thing, as you can probably tell, but I think I need to say a lot of things and (unlike some) I don't really think the forum is a good place for spleen venting.
I'm pretty sickened by all this trash about the VCA awards. I feel very sorry for ErMaC who has been nothing but helpful, encouraging and dedicated on this site only to be spitefully attacked and insulted. It's incredibly childish.
There's a serious amount of selfishness on this site at the moment but I guess that's indicative of the internet as a whole. There's too much take. I've been doing lots of reviews at the moment, some that I havent got round to posting - sorry guys they'll be up soon - and I've made them as thorough and detailed as I can. Having spent half a day watching and rewatching someone's vid and writing 3000+ word reviews.... I post the review and what happens?
Nothing. Nada. Zip.
I offer to review videos for people... I write the best reviews I can... do I get a "Thank you"?

Even a "FUCK YOU! WHAT DO YOU KNOW!" would be something. Anything. I mean, it's courtesy, right?
I wouldn't care but this is happening an awful lot. I have better things to do with my time - if people can't be bothered to take an interest in my review then why should I be bothered to do the review in the first place. (These are all reviews that I have offered for vids I normally wouldn't download).
Anyway, I've been writing an Audio Guide for the site. It's going really well, I think. It's covering lots of things such as audio extraction and filters that can be used to help time videos. It's very similar to ErMaC's video guide but with some more hands-on Premier-based stuff that you can read in the manual. If anyone has any requests for what to include, just email me.

Well, I've got my videos back up again - just in time for the contest to come. Thanks Kyle!!!
It's about time I got another video done. So many in my head but lacking source material and so on has been a pain. The Escaflowne/ Flash Gordon video was going pretty well but I just cant bring myself to finish it. I've put a lot of work into it but the whole trailer-type video just feels like cheating and the song isnt 100% interesting. There's some nice funny bits in the video and I'm sure it would get a good laugh at a con but I'm leaving it for now.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel though.
I've been meaning to do one of these for ages so now I'm going to do it no matter what. FLCL. I've had the FLCL DVDs since the days they were released and I really should have done a FLCL vid earlier. Anyway, the idea is to use the FLCL footage to make a ridcuously OTT "ROCK!" video with guitar wanking and silliness.
The song I'm going to use is the classic rock track "Speed King" by Deep Purple. It's so OTT it's untrue. Lots of retro psychadelia in the video and I need to get the characters to do random funk dancing too. Should be fun.
