EK:
Ohhhhhh yeaaaaaaaaaah
In case you haven't guessed, I got the mp3.
It has brass...
It has fretless bass...
It has wackawacka funky guitar licks...
Heck, it even has a hammond organ and a 70's flute in there.
Niiiiiice.
British Library Music was obviously happenin in the 70's ^_^
I've done some reading up on the whole Cinemaphonic stuff and it is generally acknowledged that album you have (Soul Punch) is better than the first one (Electric Soul) but the first is pretty sweet too. It's cool that there's these collections of funky music that were made for films and tv stuff that never happened. I think if I'd spotted that CD, I'd have picked it up too.
Especially with a cover like that ^_^
Anyway, I thought I'd return the favour in kind.
Here's a randomly cool funky bossanova track for you. Funky bass and general smoothness. This guy's stuff tends to go on a bit (this was the shortest of the songs that I've found so far) but it's good background funkiness.
The Bobby Hughes Experience - Break 'n' Bossa

(it's not a zip, it's an mp3, just rename it ^^)

The rich got a big piece of this and that / The poor got a big piece of roaches and rats/ Can you get to that/ Tell me where it's at/ Yeah...

"Cinemaphonic 2: Soul Punch: A Selection of British Library Music 1970-1976"
OMG if only British libraries were really that funky. Unfortunately they're all spectacles and knitwear. (Except for the British Library Special Forces which is all Yuri and breasts, natch)
You gotta make that mp3 cause that sounds so good.
Or should I say baaaaaaaaad.
Hmmmm, british jive is a difficult thing to master. This music intruiges me more by the minute.
'Annabel, please send my sincere apologies to the Willoughbys. I shant be attending their wine and cheese evening as I shall be visiting the library to strut my funky stuff.'

I'm not saying that there will be violins / But don't be surprised if they appear...

Marco and Cristina :
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm really happy for you - that's fantastic news!!
Wow. Good luck in the states... I wish you all the best.
^_________________^
I've been thinking a lot about the team project and I really love the idea. I think the coolest thing would be to do something with 3 distinct parts but with an obvious connection such as:
A song with three clear sections that we take a section each to do.
3 songs by the same artist or maybe even 3 versions of the same song.
It would probably be good to do the videos to the same anime. If we were to go down that road then we should probably work out what our common ground is with anime ^_^
Anyway, I'm still thinking of possibilities. It would definitely be a great thing to do. I especially like the idea of making one video which is part created by each of us. That would be superb.
If you have any ideas for a theme/anime/song then let me know ^_^

EK: "Hee! I was jamming out to "What Planet is This" (the short version) in traffic on the way home yesterday. NOTHING more frustrating than being stuck in bumper-to-bumper jams when music like that is playing. I had to turn it off and put in David Byrne."
Probably a wise choice as long as it's not his cover of Don't fence me in :P
"Considering changing to "The Civil Wars". Wouldn't it be screwed up if to do my vid to "Amnesia" instead?"
Dammit EK, do you have any idea how many CDs I've got lying around here after today?? I'm hunting around for Talking Heads stuff now ^_^ My room's a mess!
"Also thinking about taking bits from the songs I'm thinking of using and piecing the instrumental parts together (they all have the same tempo anyway.) Drums courtesy of U2, chorus from Public Enemy, guitar break from Beck... might be kinda sweet."
LOL
An now EK's latest amv to U Public Enemy 2Beck's classic track "The Novocane Fly Don' Believe the Hype"

"You wouldn't happen to be listening to "Stroker Ace", would you? Hee hee. I thought about doing a Dragon Pink video to that song. HAW!"
ROFLMAO!!!
:D
Wow, that brings back memories. What an idea @_@
At the time I was actually grinning like an idiot jumping around my room and 'random funking' to "What Planet is This" thinking myself to be very cool indeed.
:D
I still can't stop grinning.
Life is so good for no apparent reason. I'm sure I'm pissing off lots of depressed people by being this happy.
:P
