JOURNAL: AbsoluteDestiny (Ian Roberts)

  • Beat 2002-03-20 07:22:41 "I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked,
dragging themselves through the negro streets at dawn looking for an angry fix,
angelheaded hipsters burning for the ancient heavenly connection to the starry dynamo in the machinery of night, ...."

    "Ah get born, keep warm
Short pants, romance, learn to dance
    Get dressed, get blessed
    Try to be a success
Please her, please him, buy gifts
    Don't steal, don't lift
    Twenty years of schoolin'
And they put you on the day shift
    Look out kid
    They keep it all hid
    Better jump down a manhole
    Light yourself a candle
    Don't wear sandals
    Try to avoid the scandals
    Don't wanna be a bum
    You better chew gum
    The pump don't work
'Cause the vandals took the handles"

*drops the final cue card and wanders off*

I'm starting to think that putting in the guide to timing audio is probably extreme arrogance.

Who am I to tell someone how to time an amv? I might just go and delete it. I mean, who's it gonna actually help? All timing takes is the will to do it and to know what you are actually timing. You just need to be able to hear the elements of a song.

    *sigh*

I mean, my amvs aren't anything special. None of the other guides really give people techniques (except perhaps the sub removal guide) and I don't know whether it's the kind of thing that people need instructions for.

Then there's my whole rules of using audio in amvs... arrogance again. It's laughable really.

Gah... I should probably wipe the whole of Chapter 5 and leave everything as just technical stuff. No commentary, no editorial, no stupid premiere tricks. Just basic audio facts and the stuff people need to get by.

I'm in such a weird mood tonight - I don't think it would be fair to continue this review for alternatefutures tonight given the mood I'm in.

  • I'm lying on my bed, the blanket is warm/ This body will never be safe from harm /Still feel your hair, black ribbons of coal/ Touch my skin to keep me whole 2002-03-19 06:47:39 Jeff, why'd you have to die so young.

    ;-;

Oh well, I still think your music's beautiful even if you never had the time to mature musically as much as Tim did.

    Audio Guide is 98% done!!!

I finished Chpaters 5 and 6 today. There's bound to be typos and grammar to check and I still need to do a Sampling Your Own Audio thing but for the most part it's finished.

    Do you like it? http://www.penguinhosting.net/~zettai/audio/

I hope Phade does... I emailed him but no response. He must be seriously busy at the moment.

Wow, I'm all chilled out now after my adrenaline rush this morning thanks to EK's awesome mp3 linkage. Chilled is cool though.

    Sing it Jeff.
