    Yes, my Megatokyo video that's been seen by about 3 people has received a review:

    No video"

    Which means that not only do I have the most opinionated Megatokyo video ever... I have THE WORST VIDEO ON THE SITE!!

    I emailed the guy who left that review but he's ignoring me. I emailed Phade but Phade is kinda busy ^_^;;


    I need to make more vids. I'm so lazy about video making though. I have ideas but then I think "Meh... it'll be good but it won't be tht great". I need to start submitting to cons so I can get some amvs done.

    Or perhaps videos by request.

    Yeah - anyone want an amv made for them? If I have the footage and the song, I'll make you an amv to order :D

    She is scary but in a very different way to Kate Bush. Kate Bush can give me nightmares but she's got the voice of a siren and she can easily make you go numb with just the vocals. Sarah Brightman is just a freak :P

    But yes... great song.

    I'll have to track down that live version. Poor Paula Cole... I wouldn't inflict Dawsons Creek on anyone.

    I really don't get this whole sellout thing. It's obviously just the green-eyed monster talking but despite the jealousy factor I don't see how anyone could make that assumption in this case.

    Who are these critics? Grrrrr

    Idiots, that's who. I mean, I used to do fansubs (still do a little). Would I then be selling out if I landed a job at TRSi? No... I'd be doing exactly what I did before but this time getting paid for it and being of even more benefit to the japanese market.

    Oh well... good luck with the cover. You've not had a good week what with the tablet and everything. When it's done treat yourself to something - even if it's only those jeans or that haircut ^_^

    And back to the twin peaks theme of yesterday, as a wise detective once said you should give yourself one present every day even if it's something as small as a nice cup of hot black coffee.

    Damn that's a fine cup of coffee.

    (Obviously there's tons of young amv-ers who are thinking "What the hell is Twin Peaks?"... oh well)

    EK happened to mention Peter Gabriel's "Don't Give Up" as a song recommendation in the Video Suggestions forum.

    And what a song.

    It has a very very strange effect on me. The choruses are hauntingly beautiful (sarah brightman's vocals help with this one). When I hear it I get this strange kind of melancholy.

    It's really difficult to describe and I'm going to sound like a total dork in a minute so excuse my odd ramblings.

    "don't give up... 'cause you have friends"

    It feels so strange... It feels like crying silently - like you're not crying physically but there's this feeling in your chest... a kind of aching.

    It's amazing and so difficult to explain or understand.

    I get a similar sort of feeling from another piece of music of a similar style - with slow electronic rythmns and haunting vocals and that's Angelo Badalamenti's soundtrack from Twin Peaks. That really gets me going as well. It's probably the haunting vocals again. I really really adore the piano pieces in that soundtrack too... there's something really heartbreaking in that music. It really does feel like you've lost someone or something special to you has gone when you hear that music and the world suddenly seems like a strange place where moments are precious again and nothing is to be taken for granted.

    So here's to haunting electric ballads, gooey melancholy numbness and the memory of Laura Palmer.
