gainax fans!: Daicon film are re-releasing their stuff by dvd one by one. I only just found this out today when trawling the gainax website. They've only released the live action stuff so far but I can't wait for the Daicon III and IV opening animations to come out. *swoon*

I *heart* Koume-chan... I think I might do a digital distro of it, although it's not your ordinary anime. It's as good as Ebichu, in my opinion, but the humour is more subtle so it's not everyone's thing. -

At one point I was going to do a whole Bowie FLCL thing with Hang on to Yourself and Rock n Roll Suicide. I never did but I can still picture the video in my head.

I'm suprised there aren't all that many bowie amvs actually, cause there's some really great songs - although some of them do have tricky lyrics.
I can't believe I've been posting about which anime guys are hot in the OT forum. I must be very bored today.
The snooker semi-finals were really good today though. I bet no-one here watches snooker. Oh well, I don't care, I think it's a great sport ^_^ Poor Stevens getting beaten by Peter "Skeletor" Ebdon. Maybe next year, eh?
I meant to do some more amv editing today but in the end I just ended up loading the timeline and watching what I've already done. I'm not getting sick of it, but I'm not looking forward to the whole overlay nightmare that is to come. I very much respect Kevin's believe work... I'm only doing one fairly simple multiple monitor scene but I'm not looking forward to it.
At least these monitors don't move - although I will be puppetising characters to make them do random funking. If it works, that is.

hmmmmmm... sellout vids. Yeah, I think I'm doing one of those but I don't think there's anythng 'inherently' wrong with them - it's all just fun. Unfortunately, it's not in my nature to be conformist, which means that although I'm thinking of doing a various anime video using very popular anime, I feel that I shouldn't and should be using stuff like Maico or something.
Maico... wow that show was pretty crap - kinda... it had some reasonably good otaku mick-taking but it was basically trash.

What to do... actually, I think I might work a little more on my FLCL vid. I've now added Vasquez from Aliens into the video... oh dear, waht am I doing ^^ -

AMV editing can be so satisfying.

I did some today and it was great filling that black gap in the timeline and for it to work. Yey!
When I get this FLCL one finished I'll be able to start work on IWIWAL. Oooooh yeah.
By all accounts that should be much much easier to put together but getting the footage is going to be the tricky part so I can do that whilst I finish off the FLCL madness, then hopefully that will finally be all for my FLCL stuff and I can move on to.... 'Arima Shinjikun :D
EK: Thanks for the input yesterday, I think that vid will turn out pretty well. I think I know who kd lang and mel gibson are going to be too ^_^

Did you ever think "eva" when watching Battle Royale?
I did the first few minutes it came on and I'm certain that some of the scenes in that movie would have been very diffferent if it wasn't for Evangelion.
1) The use of classical music - I know this isn't especially Eva but the actual peices chosen were often from Evangelion and were used with a similar contrasting effect
2) The girl on the intro video is Asuka. It was really freaky putting in the DVD and the first voice I hear is Asuka announcing Battle Royale on the menu.
3) There is a hacking scene (you might not have seen that bit yet) that is soooooo eva.
There's probably a few more points of influence but basically I was pretty surprised at how Eva had influenced other Japanese media. It's pretty undeniable in BR, I think.
EK: I have a tiny favour to ask you, but I think it's something you'll enjoy if you want to do it. Actually I'll send you an email just so I don't leak my amv secrets prematurely ^_^
