No idea, but it's how I pictured the video so that's how it will be done.
After this next section, the rest should be a walk in the park. I'm now into the psychadelia section which should be fun to do but not fun to compress. This amv was never going to be fun to compress. ohhhh boy.
It's been quiet on the forums lately. Either everyone was away over the weekend or people decided to have lives ;p
There just hasn't been much talk about anything. The off-topic forum has been the most popular. There's very little actual amv talk going on which is strange. Then again, I suppose it's better than people wanting to fight each other and accusations of plagiarism flying around.
Big shout to EK for helping me with some font ideas earlier. I'd also like to apologise for Marco as I still haven't finished off the writeup of his X video. Trust me to finally get inspiration for my amv this week. Sorry ;-;

Well, last time I posted I was just over 2 minutes done.
Miraculously I'm now 2 minutes 40 seconds done... I'm almost over 3 mins into the video! The end is in sight... sorta.
I also reported that I thought having to use 15 seperate video tracks in Premiere was excessive....
Well, I thought 15 was excessive until I realised that to do what I want for this next scene, I'll have to use... around 40 video tracks.
40!!!!!!
Every single one of these 40 video tracks will be made up of stills that will be added frame by frame... and each still will need to be resized and positioned on the screen with pixel-accuracy.
This may take some time....
I've thought about ways of avoiding this... but there's no easy way. I just need to put my head down and edit the damn thing.

Oddly enough, though... it's still fun. I'm not finding it a chore at the moment.

Well, I've completed 2 mins 9 sec worth of my behemoth FLCL amv and I'm pretty happy with it.
That sounds good, doesn't it? Sounds like I'm coming along well with it, right?
Well, yes... unless you take into account the fact that:
a) I started this amv at christmas
b) I've still got 3 minutes left to edit.
3 minutes.... that seems like a decade considering the painstaking editing that I've done so far. The cuts should be much easier in the middle section though... I've just got to try and keep people's attention. I'm pretty sure it will be a very entertaining 5 mins... the problem is that I really *can't* cut it down any more than I already have. I'm probably being too much of a purist when it comes to the song, but I think the whole 5 mins are important.
Oh well, I'll do my best to keep it interesting, although this video will look a lot like a bad acid trip.
It's lots of fun to make though... heheheh, it's so gratuitous and self-gratifying.

Today was summertime, that's for sure.
Well, I never thought I'd need to use 13 video tracks in Premiere at once, but then again I never thought I'd be doing lots of silly retro effects in an amv.
It's an effect idea worthy of Steve McQueen, shall we say.
I've been sitting at the same point on the timeline for ages with no real idea of how to do this section of the song and then I realised that the ideas I was coming up with were just extensions of stuff I'd done before but this was the chorus and it needed something different.
So, I tried an effect and... mmmmmmmm editing satisfaction.
Well, it's more of a style than an effect. Now all I have to do is learn to do titles like EK and I'll be rolling ^_^
Saw Ep 2 today and enjoyed it. Still a bit cheesy, I think, but much less objectionable - which is a good thing.
Plus, I love Christopher Lee :D
It wasn't entirely problem-free though. I went to see it a 1:00 and 5 minutes into the movie... a power cut.

The showing had to be cancelled and I had to wait until 4:30 to see it when the power was back on at the picture house. At least it was only 5 mins in - I think I would have been much more annoyed if it had happened near the end.
It was quite funny though, they came in with flashlights and said "I'm sorry but there has been a power cut that will take several hours to resolve, so we cannot finish showing the movie." to which someone shouted back "Use the force!"
Ah well, I went and got ice cream ^_^
