Well it's good to have you back, Marco. It's been a surprisingly long 10 days actually.
MCWagner: I don't think I'll pull out from cons but I might pull out from competing. I really enjoy making amvs and that's the reason I do them and I really enjoy showing them to other people. That's all I want really.
I entered the Mindwarp contest partly because I hadn't done a competition before and I thought it would be fun and secondly there was a chance of hosting ^_^ The only problem is there always has to be losers. I'm glad MJ is getting some acknowedgement though - I'm going to make a PFS award bumper for Gratuitous Porn Video, maybe it can be used in the future too.
I had fun with the photoshop war this week, although it was clear that I can't use photoshop to save my life - it was good fun taking part.. but I should leave this kind of thing to the pros. EK's stuff was awesome, naturally - really well executed and novel ideas. You need to make some more amvs, EK, we need style in the amv world ^_^

Watched the video Tarzan and Su today, which I very much enjoyed. Simple and well executed. A good old-fasioned video where scene selection is king. Very recommended.

Well, I'm feeling both happy and sad about the results of the Mindwarp contest.
Of course, I'm happy that my videos did so well. It was my first ever amv competition and to win anything is a huge accolade let alone winning as many awards as that. So, obviously I'm thrilled that I it was so well received.
However, I'm sad about a couple of things. Firstly I feel I've stolen some awards from some people - most importantly MexicanJunior. I heard that the adult category was in trouble and that there might not be enough entries for it to go ahead, so I made an adult video for it. I really wanted PFS to do well but then my video went and stole the show.
So obviously I feel like I've stolen that award from him. It's even worse considering I did so well in the awards generally - it feels unfair to have won so many. I mean, I won 5 awards out of 14 - that's over 1/3rd of the total awards.
It's been quite an experience though, and I've actually gotten a little taste of how competitive these awards are.... I think I can understand how these bad feelings can come about with this award. I really hope nobody feels bitter about these ones, I know it must have been a really tough contest.
Anyway, I've decided to touch up the Gratuitous Porn Video and add a bumper to it... I think the video needs to be a tribute to the man with the most wrong this amv world has ever seen. -

I'm eagerly awaiting the result of the MindwarpET online contest. Machine said he'd post them before 10:00.
He has 20 minutes left :P (well, that's if I've worked out the time in Texas correctly)
Obviously I'd like my two videos to get somewhere but also there's a few videos by others that I'd like to see do well. It's certainly a cool list of entries this year and I certainly wouldn't feel in any way disappointed losing to lots of them. So, we'll just have to wait and see.
Come on Machine, wake up :P
