PROFILE IMAGE OF THE WEEK #3!!
The site I'm plugging this week is called Another Blue World and contains original art done by a 36 year old guy called Yutaka Mamoru.

The work is mainly done in Painter and is mainly of the fantasy genre. However, he does also do a variety of other genres and also some excellent fanart.
The profile image this week reminded me somewhat of the Escaflowne movie but it's an original peice.

First up, if you havent checked out the artist of the week in my profile do so now because I'm changing it tomorrow.
Well, I did the opening to my DDR amv today, and it's looking alright so far. I think the only thing I'm worried about is that although it's supposed to be a comedy (although a black comedy at that) it's managing to still seem... serious O.o
Bloody yaoi. Hmmm, maybe having a gay guy in drag sing a girls role isnt enough for comedy - I shall have to resort to tougher measures :D
Anyway, it's moving along fast - I'm doing 30 seconds a day, hoping to get it done by monday so I can go over it and pull it to peices and fix any crappy bits. I think it's going to work out though.
The Hideako Anno fetish video is on hold until I get this done but that's fine - hopefully by the time the DDR one is done TRSI will have released the Kare Kano dvd so I can have some more footage ^_^;;; -

Yesterday I'd done 30 seconds of new vid.
Today I've done 40 - but OH MAN are those first 30 seconds better.
I'm so goddamn anal I even scare myself. In order to get the same style as a certain section of the kare kano opening I decided to single out these particular borders from the opening in photoshop, frame by frame, make an avi out of them and use them to line the edges of my picture-in picture shots so they look the same as the kare kano opening.
But it looks so... right. It's exactly how I imagined it.
I don't care what anyone says about videos being crap when they're all about effects, I wanted to imitate Anno's style in his late 90's work and I'm having fun doing it.
To think that, at the moment, the majority of my video consists of blue-tinted stills of rusty construction sites and furniture.

Just wait till I get the live action camcorder footage of miniature trains travelling under chairs in giant old sound stages. Oooooh yeah, that's the stuff.

It seems that Anime Expo decided to invent a new category.
Without telling anyone until the contest.
And Shameless Rock Video won it.
WHA!?!??!?!??!??!
Well, obviously I'm glad that they showed the video and I'm glad that I won something but at the same time I'm more than a little deflated by the complete shambles of a contest. I'm glad it wasn't me having to get up at 8am.
Of course, there's no prize for winning at AX this year - cause they suck. I think everyone will agree that it was a disaster. I don't think I'll be submitting anything to AX next year.
Oh well... back to "Arima Shinjikun" (my new video) today. I've done 30 seconds already, so I'm a 5th of the way through which is cool.
