My friend has kindly sent me the DVD which means I can have some more footage for my AMV - yey! Just watched it. Damn, I forgot how much I love this show. It's brilliant.

I think I've got a new idea for the amv too :D

With any luck I'll finish it in time for the Pro contest. woohoo!

Lots of fun, although possibly a little british for some.

    How did I do? Well..

    Viruses you suffer from:

    Junkfood
Eat some real food. Something which you can identify the source of every ingredient, not the point of manufacture.

    Sci-fi
    Stop wearing the stick-on ears.

    British
No need for cure. Benign virus.

    Japan
Big is good. Small is bad. Giant robots would not make a good last line of defence for Earth.

    Politics
    Stop caring!

    Brand Names
Having a well-known name doesn't make it good.

    Conspiracy Theory
Face it, the elected government is in control. Actually that's quite scary.

    Environmentalism
Consume more stuff! It's easier to buy new stuff than to recycle.

    Viruses you might suffer from:

    Pokemon (60%)
Pikachu! Use your hyper-electric-get-a-life move now!

    TotL (85%)
    Go read Brunching

    USA (70%)
Rule, Britannia! Britannia rule the waves! [repeat]

    BBCB (70%)
CTRL-Break, and get a real computer. Repeat: "Mode 7 was not a good thing."

    Religion (70%)
Read "God's Debris" by Scott Adams (yes, the Dilbert guy)

    8-Bit (70%)
Polygons, all the polygons you can get are not enough.

    Discordia (90%)
Buy a suit. Invest your money. Eat hotdog buns on a friday.

    Free BSD (95%)
The GPL isn't that bad really. Adopt a penguin at the zoo.

    X11 (60%)
I hear Mac OS 10 Aqua is nice at this time of year.

    Computer Games (80%)
Stop staring at the screen and get some fresh air. You should see a doctor about the RSI in your thumbs.

    Macintosh (60%)
Use a mouse with more than one button.

    Southampton (84%)
Move to the Isle of Wight.
  • "inspirations have I none, just to touch the flaming dove/ All I have is my love of love and love is not loving..." 2002-07-21 06:33:06 So what have I been up to? Well, I've been making some new features for my site... my poor pathetic neglected site.

The main site hasn't been touched (unfortunately) but I've made myself a nice blog page and an oekaki for me and my friends. Not that you'll be able to find it yet because it's not linked anywhere. Once it starts getting good use I'll probably link it in my forum sig.

It's another Bowie day today - reminding myself of the amvs I never made. I could still make them, quite easily but in all honesty I think that I've done enough FLCL videos for now.

I might consider it later, though. However, I do have an idea that I've realised would be perfect for the minivideo project. It's too ambitious and possible too pretentious for an entire video but I could make a good 1 min video with it I think.

I've got to compile a list of creators who are working on the minivid project and see who else I need. I think I may end up doing a lot of recruiting at AWA once everyone's finished their AWA videos.

    Talking of AWA videos, my friend is sending me a DVD that I can use to finish of my Pro entry. I don't have much time but I think I can manage it - just ^_^;;

It'd be good to get it done by the Pro deadline though because it might give me time to get IWIWAL done for the expo. Oh god, that's gonna be a scream ^_^

Anyway, to day is finidhing up the DDR video and burning it so I can send it to Quu tomorrow. I best get cracking...
  • "Ain't no food upon the table and no fork up in the pan" 2002-07-19 17:52:18 EK: Thanks for the heads up, I'm in the middle of a dns changeover so my email is down for a few days whilst servers get updated.

So what have I done today?

    *thinks*

hmmmm, well I messed around with the lipsynch in my video. I think it's just as good or bad as it was before after hours of fiddling. I hate lipsynch - it's just so illogical. I slow it down and try and make all the movements match sounds and then when it's played full speed it just doesnt look right.

    Grrrr

I can do it with sock puppets why cant I do it with stills ^_^

*goes off to invent a remote handheld sock puppet lipsynch plugin for premiere*

Oh well, I think the dodgy lipsynch adds to the humour. I can't have it all looking super professional now can I? ;p (note the total sarcasm of that statement - what self-respecting video maker would photoshop pink lipstick on characters for a joke?)

I'd love a job video editing but I've got no hope of making a portfolio I'd actually want to show anime fans...

    Oh well ^_^;;

Maybe one days I'll do something that isnt totally dumb... yeah right.

  • "Vagina Dentata... what a wonderful phrase" 2002-07-18 15:45:45 Omnistrata: If you want to use the Divx playback filter you have to make suer you -

    1) use the h.263 quantizer (which is best for anime anyway)
    2) DONT use lumi masking
    3) DONT use MV hints

I think that's it. If you encode with the above settings it should work fine.

EK: Funny you should mention The Lion King - ErMaC and I have a potential Disney thing planned so stay tuned for wrongness.

Of course, no toothed vaginas in these parodies.. well, unless I decide to use Wicked City or something.

is the plural of 'vagina' vagina or vaginas?

    jbone?

Hsien: I'm glad SSI is working out. Keep it up! I'm actually jealous - I wanna be working on a vid like that.... *plots*
